I would look in a different direction myself.

1) It could mean that Rosenhaus and Barber are looking for a huge payday - and more than the Cowboys are willing to pay

2) It could mean that there's a back in the draft they feel could be as good or better than Barber (one not named McFadden)

3) It could mean that they're looking to move Barber and then sign Michael Turner to be their lead back

4) Any scenario where Barber goes elsewhere gives the Cowboys three #1 draft picks to fill whatever needs they deem necessary

I think we really have something for mcfadden in place and I cant see us giving MBIII a big contract than turn around and give DF a fat contract, just don't see it, while having MBIII with DF would be a great luxury to have.
