There are no June 1st cuts this year.

What I mean is that there is no incentive to cut a player after June 1st because the NFL will not allow you to spread the cap hit over 2009 and 2010 since right now 2010 is uncapped.

Thus, any player released at any time will have the remaining portion of their signing bonus and guaranteed money accelerate, in full, against the 2009 cap.


So no need to wait to June 1st to cut Ellis if that is the plan.

The other reason is because of what he does on the field. He does get pressure and does get sacks. Spencer has alot of upside but he is still unproven. Without Ellis (or somebody liek him) teams will really dedicate multiple people to Ware.

Brah! I like it. Jason Taylor is a team guy. And has twice the athleticism as Greg. Just not sure Taylor can play the run like Greg. But still, interesting to say the least.
