If Lane Johnson falls, would you consider trading up?

Depends on where falls is, if he gets past San Diego(which I highly doubt) then you have Miami who we all know needs another tackle if they pass then yeah I'd probably think about a trade up but in all honesty if he gets past those 2 he'll fall to 18. Carolina could take him but he'd just sit behind Gross, New Orleans doesn't value tackles from what I've read, St Louis is set with Long & Saffold, and Pittsburgh is probably in the market for pass rush in round one.

No way I trade up for a tackle. I'm definitely more concerned about the interior.

As you hopefully know by now, it is extremely expensive to move up in the first round. Very, very costly.

For example , from the 18th slot....

To move only up to 16,it would cost our 4thand 5th rounders

To move to only 14, it would cost us our 3rd for sure and maybe 6th too

To get up to 12th, It would cost a 3rd, 4th, and5th

To get to 10th! We would have swap our 2nd for someone's 5th

It's brutal.
Trading up later in the draft is not so bad, but from mid 1st up ....yikes

I wouldnt nice up but I would take him at 18

I wouldn't trade up for anyone in this draft. A lot if players I like but there 5 players I wqnt and i think one if them will be there at 18.
If all 5 are gone then I would trade back

If he gets past Miami, the only team likely to consider him would be STL at 16 before our pick. So, if we really wanted him, we could trade a 5th to move up to 16 and take him. But I would rather sit tight and see who falls to us.

I cant think of one guy in this draft I would give up a 2nd-4th to move up for. The Fitzpatrick release probably pushes somebody good down

Yeah, I'd consider it. I love Cooper and Warmack, but I'd rather take a tackle in the first.

I don't know that I'd cough up the 2nd rounder though. Too many holes, not enough picks.

Nope. Lane Johnson doesn't make our line any better than Cooper or Warmack would.

Not a fricken chance ! We need every pick we have (6), just as we needed every pick last year. WE don't have enough talent or youth to get by giving ourselves less players at the draft just to move up for 1 player.
Now, having said that, I understand the reasoning last year with Claiborne and I do hope this year is a monster for him and us. But I also think the choice to trade up majorly handicapped us - not again !

I won't rule it out. But no way am I spending more than the third rounder. Also it depends on who else is left.

I'm more interested in moving up in the second round.

no, not at all....we need our picks with having only 6 currently...I don't want any flashy moves, just take BPA on one of the lines and I will be happy (happier if the first rounder is on OL)

Why trade up for Lane Johnson in the 1st when you might be able to draft Terron Armstead in the 2nd?

Not for this guy.

I'm not sure there is anyone in this draft worth trading up for. Especially with only 6 picks.

The only guy worth the Cowboys trading up for is Shariff Floyd. And he's going top 5, so thats not happening.

Dion Jordan is another guy, but with Spencer in the mix its not worth it.

I agree with that. As much as I think we have a need for interior OL, you get a premium tackle and you're set at that position for a decade potentially.
