Its common for GMs to talk and ask hey who you taking with this next pick. Its pretty standard. For the most part its a fraternity with GMs. They try to not burn any bridges because sometimes you might need to circle back again in the future. How did the Steelers know we weren't taking Lemon? Don't they know who the owner is here and what he's capable of?
Or circled back to Pittsburgh on another line to get a better offer. So Dallas stuck it to the Steelers again, and did not even know it.
How were they supposed to know they were on the phone. If they did, they could have upped the price to the Eagles.
Dallas fleeced Steelers with getting Pickens, and now unknowingly prevented them from getting a WR they coveted.
The Cowboys likely had no idea nor cared honestly. That wasn't the point. So Dallas stuck it to the Steelers again, and did not even know it.

That doesn’t really make sense. Pittsburg asks Dallas what they’re up to at 20??Its common for GMs to talk and ask hey who you taking with this next pick. Its pretty standard. My guess would be lemon himself said nah Dallas isn’t calling you guys are next here we goThe Cowboys likely had no idea nor cared honestly. That wasn't the point.
Philly most likely wanted Lemon, called Dallas, Dallas offered to trade, that was it.
Pittsburgh assumed Dallas didn't want Lemon so they called him thinking they were getting him and then Philly traded up and picked him.
No one was out to get Pittsburgh.
It's just funny that the first team McCarthy goes to after the Cowboys is the one this happened to .. while on the phone.
No, the Steelers told him they were drafting him on the phone call .. his family celebrated before seeing the Philly call and I'm guessing his agent telling him Philly traded up to get him.My guess would be lemon himself said nah Dallas isn’t calling you guys are next here we go
Not so sure about that. If our front office was doing their homework then they call Pittsburgh back about their 3rd rounder comp (99) and 4th (121) which beats Philly's two 4ths and let them know Philly is hot to trade up to 20. Their 99 and 135 comp in the 4th was better too.Its common for GMs to talk and ask hey who you taking with this next pick. Its pretty standard. Yes this is how it wentThe Cowboys likely had no idea nor cared honestly. That wasn't the point.

Right, but I had to say it in jest. It is what I will tell my Steelers fan friend tonight. But I think she was happy taking the OL. She said he was needed to protect a young QB or and old QB if AR reruns. Also Broderick Jones had a set back, and may miss part of the season. They needed an OL. So in a sense Dallas actually helped them.No one was out to get Pittsburgh.
Right, a little bit of irony there. It's just funny that the first team McCarthy goes to after the Cowboys is the one this happened to .. while on the phone with the guy they thought they were getting.
Pittsburgh was on the phone with Lemon telling him they were drafting him when Philly called with the news
While on the phone with the Steelers, he asks, "Why is Philly calling me?"
I'm thoroughly convinced we have bugged the Steelers front office.....So Dallas stuck it to the Steelers again, and did not even know it.
