If no Robinson, how about Manningham?

If for whatever reason we cannot come to terms with Laurent Robinson, how about Mario Manningham?

I personally like the kid and he's shown he can step up when put into a larger role (60 rec., 944 yards and 9 TDs) as he was in 2010 when taking over the #2 spot from the injured Steve Smith.

Manningham has some of the quickest feet in the league.

I can't imagine any scenario where Laurent Robinson ends up with a bigger contract than Manningham, so if we can't come to terms with Robinson we sure as heck wouldn't be able to with Manningham.

How in the world would we get Manningham if we can't keep Robinson?

So what makes you think the Giants won't re-sign him?

So you folks really think Manningham is going to be signed to crazy money?

New York will likely need to rework Victor Cruz's contract ala Miles Austin a few years ago. FWIW, I read on a Giants' board they're expecting 3 yrs/$10 million range.

I'm not sure of the Giants' cap situation or who their priority FAs are.

Beyond that, it's a freakin' hypothetical folks!

I'd take a look at Eddie Royal even if Dallas re-signs Robinson.

I think in the right scheme, he could be a player. Plus he'd add value in the return game. Only 25. Had a great rookie year, but hasn't done much since.

Eddie Royal would be great here. He was very good in Denver with nobody at QB.

I wouldn't mind Royal at all with a team friendly contract

0% chance mannigham leaves the giants to go to another team and be the number 3 receiver.

So quick, he can't even stay in bounds or run his routes right most of the time.

Pass.

Wow, Cris Collinsworth really had an affect on you.

Yep, and Manningham is about as inconsistent as Miles Austin. He's due for at least 1 or 2 bone head plays per game.

Not far from the truth.

I don't know. I think the odds are high we keep Robinson. He made his own name in our system. I think he's rewarded. JMO though.

I think people are over estimating what Robinson will get offered. In any top free agent list or segment in the media, Robinson isn't even listed. ESPN didn't even list him as one of our Free agents. I don't think he caught as many eyes as we may think and most teams will recognize that he wasn't doing anything before teaming with Romo.

Eddie Royal is also good because he can return punts and kicks.

Royal was money when he had Cutler throwing to him.
