If Nolan Smith falls to 26, is he the pick?

Dude has great measurables at a position that isn't a need. Do you pass on him in favor of a Kincaid, Robinson or JSN?

After all the mocks and speculation there is zero chance that this team passes on Robinson if he’s available. However folks here want to slice it, this team will not pass on one of the top 5 players in this draft.

If all of those guys are available we’re in a great spot.

It’s be between Smith and JSN for me, and since Lamb and Cooks both play great out of the slot it’d be a pretty decision to go Smith.

That being said I think he’s a top 20 lock at this point.

As the 5th best edge player (most say), Nolan could *possibly* slide to 27. Not likely but could. In that case I'd likely look for a trade partner who likes Nolan. Grab an extra late round pick and get my target.

Smith is easily better than Kincaid, Robinson, and JSN. I don't really see either of the receivers as game-changing talents, and Robinson plays too low-value of a position to be a game changer. Smith could be a Von Miller, Parsons sort of defender.

He won't go as high as either because he doesn't have their track record of production, but the tools are there. In my book, he is edge #2 behind Will Anderson. Speaking of track record of production...

I definitely wouldn’t be upset with Nolan Smith. I have him ranked similarly to Tyree Wilson and LVN who are most likely top 10-15 picks. If I had to guess all of the players listed in this post are gone by 26. I have Kincaid and JSN as TE/WR 1.

He went to Alabama. If he could be a von or micah he wouldn't last to 26.

I am thinking Kincaid is the pick there also because everyone listed is gone

With his traits and having tape where he looks like the guys you referenced Id be shocked if he’s available at 26.

I’d have a hard time putting him above Wilson but he’s comfortably Edge 3 for me.

I did a mock where both Nolan Smith fell then Drew Sanders slipped in 2nd. I had Quinn in mind when I snagged both.

Where does he play on our defense?

Obviously can’t start as a DE in a 4-3 at his size.
Can he cover RB’s or TE’s or drop back into zone consistently to play WIL.
Is he even a better pure pass rusher than Sam Williams?

I think he would probably make a very good SAM Lb, but we (and most teams) play so much nickel that it’s very difficult to justify taking the position in the 1st.

I dont hate it, I just dont love it. I value production over measureables. That is not to say he couldnt become very productive. Would need to see what the alternatives are when they are on the clock.
