What would the talking heads have to say about our Cowboys if they had two more wins.

It's going to take a deep playoff run to change the narrative on this team.

Lost to the Chiefs by 1 point, lost to the Chargers after having the lead in the 4th, lost to the Broncos after having the lead under 3 minutes left, had the lead vs Detroit by 6 with 1:12 left.

We should have won the Chargers, Broncos, and Detroit game if defense would have held the lead. This team should be 11-1 or 10-2. Most likley would be if we didn't have all these injuries, I want to see this team with a healthy starters on the Dline and secondary.

Parcells said it: We are what we are.

All that coulda-woulda-shoulda...That's nonsense talk. Every team can work up narratives where they'd have won 4 or 5 more games.

We could just as easily have a worse record.

Doesn't matter if we lose by 1 or by 100. It's still an L.

Does losing by 1 point make you guys feel better? Reminds me of the QC, Hutch, Campo days ... we lost 7 games each year by 3 points or less. Feels good don't it? We're still 5-11.

You win 50% of games within 1 score in the NFL.

Regression to the mean.

I think many NFL teams are in this category. We just don't pay as much attention. On the other side, teams winning by those 3 points are saying, any win is a good win.
I want to be on that other side of the W side of that stat.

Most of you are missing the question. What would the national media be saying? Would they still show us no love?
Only hate?

Nothing would be different. They would all be waiting and expecting Dallas to fold. Romo would choke in the playoffs so it doesn't matter what their record is going in. It would be the same rhetoric with the only difference being a better record. This is assuming the injuries are the same.

If this team was healthy with Spencer and Ratliff playing and their record was 10-2, then things might be different.

What would they be saying if they lost to the Vikings or both Giants games?

I think you nailed it. The media would show the Cowboys more love if they won more.

Consider yourself exposed, haters.

I can see where the OP is coming from, but jeeeez can you imagine if we lost to the vikes and the Giants the 2nd time? Wow.

You win some of the close ones, and you lose some of the close ones. It is what it is.

Eh it'd be a mixture of both. Some would be saying that the Cowboys are "a team that finds a way to win regardless of stats and injuries" and others would be saying those close wins were "good fortune and the wheels are about to fall off at any moment".

Itd be nice because we can say we beat a good team this year. Everyone we beat is mediocre and below. Just have to hope we get it rolling ay the right time.
