I am seriously tired of these fools who come in here, and bash everything we do. If not Romo, who do you sign? Kolb? Smith?

:hammer::signmast:

Everyone seems to forget the years between Aikman and Romo. Franchise QB's don't just come around frequently.

Those who bash Romo or his contract know very little about football anyway. They can point to what they think is a problem but cant offer any solutions.

Romo haters don't understand this kind of logic. All they want to do is just hate Romo.

Haters of Romo think there's no difference between a scrub QB and Romo because no matter what the end result is the same. 3-13 is no different from 8-8 because we miss the playoffs either way.

You know, because with Romo, we are garunteed to miss the playoffs.... That's what they think anyway.

Seriously, stop this nonsense. Romo signed his deal, he's the franchise QB and today is a new day.

Move on.

I'm going to make people angry. I'm a Romo supporter and happy with the deal, but this logic baffles me. You don't hold on to a player you don't think is right just because you dont have an immediate backup plan. If you make the decision that you are going to move on, then you start to formulate.

If the cowboys felt that Romo wasn't best for our long term success, then they would make a trade for Matt Flynn. Or get some picks and trades together and draft someone next draft. Or go with Orton for a while.

I hear this same thing at work when we feel we have an employee who may be crappy on the team but produces a lot. I hear well he/she may be a cancer but look at all the revenue they bring in.

Doesn't matter, they fit or they don't. The cowboys (and I) feel Romo fits.

Yea! 1 playoff win in going on 17 years will make people feel that way.as will missing the playoffs in 4 out of the last 5 years.this team is not good enough to win a super bowl.so why trow all that money on a choker like Romo? should have went with Orton for a year, and drafted a QB. but as i expected our dummy owner/GM, gave away the store to a 33 year old average QB, who has not won but 1 playoff game since he was a junior in high school. he damaged his franchise for years with that stupid move.never seen a guy fight as hard as Jerry, to keep players that have given him 6 and 10. 8 and 8. and 8 and 8, the last three years.

And so it begins. I find it funny that you targeted me instead of answering the question the OP asked. Thanks for proving my point.

There is logic and merit to be discussed for both sides of this ongoing debate about how good Romo really is, and now if he's worth this new contract extension or not. The people coming in here shouting at the "Romo haters" saying they "just don't get it" are just as bad as those "Romo bashers" that they are so angry with, tbh. No substance to these posts at all as to why or not Romo is the guy to take us to being a perennial playoff contender or why or not he's worth 108 million.

Sadly, more often than not, these "debates" amount to nothing more than two groups of monkeys slinging feces at one another.

Idk why people look at romo age. I get if someone says one playoff win but age shouldn't be a factor. Look at the "elite" qbs out there. Peyton. Brady. Brees. Eli etc all over 30. And romo didn't start until he was 26-27.

just go out a draft a qb. it's really just that easy. look around the nfl. teams have went out and drafted franchise qb's easily. its an easy process and teams have had great success at it:confused:

The question was, if not Romo then WHO? You still haven't come up with the name name of this guaranteed franchise QB of yours is that you would draft. Give us a name and reasons why he would be a franchise QB and guaranteed to be better than Romo.

Ready....GO

There are no better options than Romo. Aside from the last game of the season I was actually proud of this team down the stretch and how they played as a team despite the injuries. There is no need to shake up the roster and replace a productive Qb with a complete unknown. With Romo I know the team will be in contention each year and if we upgrade the offensive line in front of him this could be one of the best offenses in the league.
