He has excellent speed and not so great decision making. I’d like to see if one more year in the system will improve the decision making, especially on fair catches

Not sure how he can’t see that. I’m sure it’s part of why he was a free agent.

He lacks patience. He needed to slow up for a split second and let the outside open up for him.

My biggest issue with Turpin is he doesn’t know when to fair catch a punt or not. There’s been times this year he’s fielded a punt with no defenders within 8-10 yards of him but he fair catches it. Yesterday he fair caught a punt at the 6-yard line.

What’s worse is all the feigned gesticulation like “oh man, I was about take one to the house on y’all!”

I thought I was finally going to see him take one back, and what a time for it too. If only he went outside where nobody would have touched him, instead of inside where the last man to beat was - the kicker. I realize that must happen so fast and you have a split second to decide- but oh so close.
Ive been hearing about him taking one back in an exhibition game this year. I don't ever watch exhibition games, to me they are glorified practices and few people play their regulars anyway. Plus they don't count. So I missed him doing that back then and have been waiting for him to break one all year. So so close. What a difference in a close game that would have been.
Way I see it is it doesn’t matter. This team as it looked w/o Pollard has no business in the NFCCG let alone the SB

If only Turpin goes outside...

Dak doesn't throw two INTS and a near pick 6?

I thought he should have cut it back sooner. The middle of the field was wide open. He waited too long to cut.
This was the option. I think he tried to get the Kicker to over-commit and then sliver between the kicker and a trailing big guy.

Kicker got in the way.

Sometimes the other team just barely makes a play, and that's the difference.

There's always a handful of plays that if they go the other way then the Cowboys win, but they always seem to go against us in the divisional round.

Its Turpin Derpin Time

It hurts to see cause overall he played well, that just stings to watch plus the fair catch at the end

It looked like the blocker wasn’t in position of blocking until the camera shows him trying to get the 49er player.

Before he got the block, that 49er player had the outside contained.

In other words Turpin had three options, slow down and let the blocker block the player then go outside, try and outrun that 49er player without the blocker, or go and see if he can split the two 49er players.

Ya not sure why he stayed in the middle
I think it's amazing and an act of God that Turpin didn't lose his speed all season long and this is right after he played an entire season prior.

Turpin is weird...so this punt return was not surprising. He doesn't appear to be a high-IQ player...he will always call for a fair catch when he has room to run or he will let a punt bounce when he should just field it.

Or cut it back left, against the kicker's movement. He chose the worst option.
