I know most were saying Thompson but he and Dak seem to found something, so I think he's safe. We dressed five ( Hurns, T-Will, Beasley, Gallup and Austin) on Sunday. Broaddus said the one with fewer targets could be a hint. I'm guessing Lenior off PS but honestly, I'd rather see cut one of the four TEs.

Interesting how the staff has gone completely cold on TWill. Considering his 4+ years in the offense and 2 years with Dak, you'd he would get a boatload of targets. He's barely seeing the field but his salary ( $3M) is guaranteed. Either way, don't think he gets cut. If anything, he could start seeing himself inactive.

And they are using him as they used Brown last year more of blocking guy like an H-Back/TE

Personally i wouldnt resign him and i was for the BB experiment. He burnt his bridges here and frankly i dont think he has great chemistry with Dak. Sadly if i had to pick, Hurns. But i personally dont think Brice is worth losing Hurns. Even if he does come i dont have faith in Linehan anymore. Can we dump a coach for him? It would be stupid for BB to resign here, than it sends the message its all about the money. Go elsewhere bud, go elsewhere.

I would think it would be one of the new safeties that would be cut. Not sure why they would need another WR, but may want to save a 4th round pick if they release Thompson before week 10. He has been pretty good so far.

Cap wise, releasing Hurns is more favorable than dropping T Will - neither of them have done much on the field.

Then again, maybe we don't really need four tight ends?

You didn't answer the question:huh:

Pretty much my thinking......

Hurns 2 catches for 18 yards on the season dont move the needle for you?

I don't think we need to keep four TE's. Problem is that a case could be made for cutting any one of them (Swaim is likely safe).

I still wouldn’t count out Thompson even though he seemed to have a big role yesterday. Cutting him reinstates the 4th round comp pick for Hitchens. They may think Butler can give them the same production.

Who cares? It's not like he's going to make any difference for this offense.

My guess would be that they release a TE.

That would be my guess as well. Schultz gets released and they try to get him to the practice squad. If he's claimed? Oh well, he's not ready yet anyway.

Sadly this staff seems to think that it can't survive unless we have at least 4 bodies at TE, so as much as I'd like them to release a TE, I can't see it happening. Can't remember the last time we kept fewer than 4.

Is that right? I didn't realize that the Thompson signing negated the comp pick we'd get for Hitchens.

That would be a tough call for me, because so far Thompson seems to be one of the guys who has some kind of rapport with Dak so far.

When you are a wr that isn’t no making big money and you are a free agent.....yeah, it’s all about the money. You somehow blame a guy for trying maximize his very short term earning opportunity?

It doesn't, but maybe if people keep saying it, that will come true

bingo, we could get Julio Jones on this team and he would end up with about 50 catches for 700 yards and 3tds.
