If Rob Ryan was fired for his coaching in seattle game (chicago too), why isnt Joe DeCamillas fired for his poor coaching on special teams in seattle game and other games where special team play blew it too?

Is Jerry Jones doing a double standard here?

WE lost 3-4 games because of poor special teams play, so why isnt Joe DeCamillas on hot seat too?

can someone fix title for me please, should read If R Ryan was fired for his gaffe in Seattle, why isnt Joe Decamillas fired 4 Seattle 2!

Who said he wasn't on the hot seat too?

JOE!!!!! Welcome back sir!

I sincerely hope you are around for your draft knowledge as I have come to value it very much. Good to see you either way.

cowboyjoe...Jerry's on the hot seat, and he's making changes. So, we don't know what coaches will be on this next team. Or, even what players!

I heard earlier on the radio that DeCamillias was out of the running for the Chicago position but was still considering the special team position, which is a lateral move. Sounds like to me he has been given some indication that his remaining contract might not be honored. JMO

Joe D should have been replaced a year ago, they do not make decisions that make sense.

Good question, and the answer is that Rob wasn't fired because of specific performance issues in the Chicago and Seattle games. He was fired because of issues more organic than that.

There is plenty of speculation. I like InmanRoshi's suggestion that Rob Ryan really isn't a detail guy, that detail down to the microscopic level is important to a wonk like Garrett, and that all the various detail failures .. 12 men on the field being a typical issue .. got to him.

I've suggested that perhaps it began as a brag: that Rob may have promised a winning defense if JG and JJ got hgim his corners, that they leaned on this promise and didn't ask for a better OL. That after the defense collapsed, they held it against RR (whether the order came from JG or JJ is pretty immaterial to me. I think they're joined at the hip enough that the decision, once made, was mutual).

Whatever the cause, at some philosophical organizational level, it wasn't a fit. And whether Kiffin immediately uses a 4-3 under or hybrid fronts for a while, the Tampa 2 style coverage doesn't have to change.

Kiffin is clearly a taskmaster, and I think the emphasis will be on execution of a well understood scheme.

Because Garrett and Jones like Joe D. He's a fiery guy, with a good track record, and appears to be a dedicated coach.

Now, I'm not saying those are good reasons to keep him. But if you're going to have poor coaching performances, you don't want to also have an abrasive personality, possibly not show up for meetings, etc.

Seriously, you could point to about 6 games that should be enough to get a ST coach fired.

I would have liked to see one more year out of Ryan. I am telling you now - Cowboys are last place next year.

I was with you, my friend. Totally thought Rob Ryan got screwed and I wanted him back. However, if.....IF....if the stories are true about him not attending def. meetings, then he deserved to be fired. I dont know whether to believe these stories or not, so its hard for me to take a stance and stick with it.

Seattle, Baltimore, just to name a few. He was the one that called the "infamous" timeout last year at Arizona. Not JG. JG called it, but the replay shows him calling TO to JG. Probably only had 8 guys out there.

Coach Joe doesn't steal headlines from Jerry. Jerry fired Ryan because Ryan projected himself to the media.
