Do we still take the cap hit? Because someone, somewhere will pick him up if we let him go. Just asking.

Yes, it doesn't matter if he's picked up or not. We still take a cap hit.

Yes, it's called a contract and they are binding.

First he won't be cut! Second there is a cap hit of 720,000 this year and 3M in 09'.

He does however needs to improve because 08' could be his last. I have confidence that Campo will bring him back to form.

I had to ask. I used to have mad manlove for Roy, but this year he has sucked.com and I don't think he will ever recover. He no longer has the bone breaking hits and that was his only claim to fame before. Without those hits receivers aren't scared to come across the middle and he certainly can't run with them. :banghead: If he would just start to hit again I would be happy. :banghead:

I don't. In fact I see his playing time diminishing. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Well, obviously, he won't get cut because of the cap numbers. I was just wondering if there was any way to cover our backsides. I think even the strongest Roy supporters will agree that he hasn't lived up to his billing the last couple of years. YES, I know, other safeties get beat too but Roy is being paid because he WAS a great hitter and tackler. He is no longer either of those things. He used to get interceptions because the receiver across the middle would adjust his route away from Roy now they are intentionally attacking him. That's not good when receivers are looking up our "best" hitter. :banghead:

:starspin I agree, he won't be cut because of the cap numbers, and while Williams used to make the big hit on occasion, he doesn't make them very often anymore. As far as his coverage skills goes.......need I say more.

I say we cut him and take the cap hit. Then sign him again and cut him again!

Stick Biscuit in TOs bionic hyperbaric (spelling) chamber for the entire offseason....at the same time, force subliminal images of Chris Simms at UT, as well as all of his highlights of his first 3 seasons into his head....His body will heal and his mind will be right again.....

it also wouldn't hurt for Roy to pick up TOs workout regimen......if he could handle even 1/4 of it.

Cause he's too skinny to play LB. ;)
Give him a biscuit.

Wasn't it Parcells that said he was only a biscuit away from being a LB?

I think I'm going to start a thread every day asking about the implications of cutting Roy on our salary cap.

Why stop at 1. 3 or 4 is what this board really needs.

I think your numbers are a litte off. We paid Roy like $11 mill signing bonus and that entire remaining bounus would be escalated into either this years cap or half this year and half next year if designated a June 1 cut.

I think his cap hit for this year is WAY MORE than 700K.
