Jeremy Bates might be an option on the offensive side.

McDaniels said he was retaining Rick Dennison although if Shanahan were actually hired, he could probably be assistant HC/OL.

Who would he bring in as DC?

Would he get a 3-4 man and stay with that? Who are the good, young defensive assistant coaches on 3-4 teams?

I say who cares, but I think it's important that Jerry hire a HC and let the HC hire his own staff, not force him to work with somebody he may not want to work with.
