If Sparano is fired, do we bring him in?

This would be a no brainer unless there was some friction between him and Garrett when he was here. I haven't heard that to be the case so I would call him the minute he is fired and bring him in as an offensive consultant to do whatever Garrett wants him to. The offense was at it's very best when Sprano and Garrett were running it together.

Yes, yes, yes. Let him assist Garrett with the offensive gameplan.

Not sure if bringing him in this year does much. I would assume he's still familiar with the offense, but I have to believe there would be an adjustment period, for him and the rest of the offensive coaches. Remember, Garrett calls the plays, but Houck is the running game coordinator, and John Garrett is the passing game coordinator. So if you bring someone else into that, you're changing a lot of parts midseason. Could work, or could just be disruptive. Sounds like a good idea for the offseason, after Houck (hopefully) retires.

And I don't think it matters who's coaching the offense. If the center can't distinguish where the voices are coming from, and the guards keep getting pushed back on short yardage plays because of a lack of strength, and the LT can't handle a speed rush, the offense is going to struggle.

That said, I hope they bring him back.

I don't think he is going anywhere. At least until the end of the season.

I like him as a coach providing he doesn't have overall decisions making power. Someone has to keep him in check. As a OC or oline coach. I'm good with that.

I'm sure Garrett would be thrilled to have the option but I'm not sure Houck would be comfortable with it and I can promise you knowing the type of guy Garrett is, Hudson opinion would carry a lot of weight.

Then again Houck was all for bringing in Bruce Matthews so I guess the possibility is there. I know Jerry has a lot of respect for Tony and Parcells still has Jerrys ear so.....

I would love to have him. he obviously is not head coaching material. but as a coordinator and offensive coach, he was great.

...............as he should be.

THE END.

I would bring him in to help without a doubt.

Probably won't happen though.

...next year for SURE though! Has me excited at the possiblity.....Red needs the help and I love Tony S......I really do. Miami and their soft ownership don't deserve him..he hasn't been given the horses to win down there. Bad drafting and Reggie Bush is a clown too...bad signing.

No. I think we already have the guy on the staff, but his name escapes me.

I also think the offensive line issues are more of a problem of the guys being young and still learning than being bad. I expect them to be pretty solid after the bye. They'll have seen 4 really good defensive fronts in a row leading up to New England.

Houck is not the running game coordinator and they were looking to bring in an OL coach. They didn't get the guys they wanted and just promoted someone from within to help Houck. I think they'd love to have Sparano back and you don't have to call him the Ol coach. He can be an offensive consultant.

I would love to bring Sparano in, especially since Houck isn't going to be here much longer (I sense retirement coming soon). But I doubt it will happen...certainly in the middle of a season. Perhaps next year if he's available.

Not during the year, of course, but absolutely get him in here ASAP after the season. That 2007 season was the best our offense ever looked.

And Houck needs to go anyway.
