If Spencer has problems with the run...

Lets get this straight, you want to replace a 250lbs outside linebacker who can run like the wind, with a 300lbs defensive end who cannot?

If he's running like the wind to the wrong place, which has has shown some problems diagnosing the run and flowing to it properly, then that's not doing anyone any good. And if you followed my thoughts, the 300 lb defensive end who can't run like the wind wouldn't be put in the position to need to. His job would not be to go out in coverage, but to tie up the TE and contain the run.

So what happens when they run the sweep to Hatcher or Ratliff's side? Do you really think they're going to be agile enough to flow to the ball and stretch it out?

If it were as simple as that, trust me DCs would have been doing it for years now. it's not like you're putting a road block on the outside. It's like you're putting a slight obstruction that can be easily moved around. There's a reason those guys are used plugging the middle and not the ends.

Chuck Norris could be our starting SOLB, but the NFL won't allow him into the league... it's part of the program to protect QBs.

The world does NOT hold Chuck Norris. Chuck exists and allows the world to touch his feet!
