Give me Gogan today over Ball. Speaking of Gogan and the flu...I remember a game where Gogan played with the flu, and they showed a close shot of him at one point, and John Madden said, "there's a lot of places to get the flu in there." I have no idea why I remember that.

i dont know why they dont get the FLu shot? i get it every year and i dont interact with so many people as NFL players do.

I never get the flu. About 20 years ago, my employer had a nurse come give free flu shots. I declined at first, but was promptly harassed by the other employees that I was afraid of needles. Got the shot. I promptly came down with the worse case of the flu I’ve ever had, before or since. Needless to say, I don’t think much of flu vaccines.

There are several different versions of the flu. If you get one vaccination you can still catch the other strands.

Who's to say they didn't? It often doesn't help regardless. I dont get it. I work on a medic unit and deal with sick people all the time. I think its been about 20 years since I actually caught the flu, and several since I've even been sick with anything that sidelined me. I just don't see a logical reason to put the flavor of the season in my body.

Good thing is they are hopeful getting it out of the way now.

If we are lucky they will have some immunity and this won't he as much a concern come playoff time.

I used to take the flu vaccine, and I would get sick. The past 8 or 9 years i have not taken any vaccine, and I have eaten a large amount of chips and salsa. Through experimentation I have proven that chips and salsa are a better deterrent against the flu than the vaccinations. It is science

Maybe they usually have no reason to take one. While you get the shot every year and do not get it, I have never gotten the shot and the last time I had the flu was outside "flu season". My wife gets the flu shot and has gotten the flu 4 times in the last 20 years. IMHO unless you work around immuno-compromised people or you yourself have underlying issues that you want to hedge your bets, I see no reason why a young person like these athletes would get the flu shot.
