suppose by June 3rd or first week of June with court hearings, till about the 7th of June, the NfL and players and owners, either go to old CBA or they sign a new agreement.

So, by the 5th- 7th of June, players can start mini camp and OTAs, whichever comes first, mini camp or OTAs, what would be better?

Have the Cowboys players spend first 2 to 3 weeks in June on Mini camp or OTAs whichever comes first. Then, last week in June and first 10 days in July for the other Mini camp or OTAs. Then players get 2 weeks to rest their legs, and get ready for training camp.

What would you suggest that would help the Cowboys players get ready for training camp if by first week of June after court hearing on June 3rd some type of aggreement is made between the players, owners and NFL?

Your plan sounds good to me. Lord knows this team will need all the work it can get with some new faces and new coaching staff.

There ought to be league-wide rules. Start training camp two weeks early, but the first two weeks should be strictly non-contact, jersey and helmet, one-a-day drills.

There would be a clash. I think Romo plays golf in June.

I guess these workouts would be subject to change in a new CBA too. Right now OTAs limit on-field activity to two hours daily. Minicamps I don't think there is a limit.

JG told rookies to be ready to play "at a moment's notice" so rookie mini-camp will probably happen the first weekend after the lockout is lifted. I wonder if UDFAs could be signed then.

I'm just grateful it will be Garrett and not Wade getting the team ready in a shortened offseason. I can't even imagine the comedy of errors if he were still in charge of preparing things.

I could quickly settle into a that's the ticket mode on your fix. The NFL tends to be more conservative in dictating actual schedule and fixing of routines for a team although.

Only in Joe's world.

:muttley: Have to remember, this time of year, a couple of weeks before the draft, draft, and after in may, and part of june till training camp, I feel should be DALLAS COWBOYS FOOTBALL AND NOTHING ELSE.

Now, at night time and on weekends, unless mini camp or OTAs, or training camp, weekends are players time off.
