It's not impossible.

As long as they can stay out of a dome stadium in the playoffs I think they have a good chance.

Greenbay is a great place for San Fran to play.

They have the feel of a flash-in-the-pan team to me, like the '07 Dolphins. Every year there is a team that has a great year and then regresses terribly. This year -- it's the 9ers and Bills. Neither will be nearly as good next year.

Well, they are probably going to play a home game, so I wouldn't be so sure that they don't win a game.
They did beat the Giants afterall and the loss to us was in OT...so that was a coin toss.
Don't forget that New Orleans lost to Seattle last year. I would not be so sure.....

They've beaten the Giants, and won at Cincy and at Detroit. They've handled their business. We'll see what happens when they travel to Baltimore and host the Steelers. But to this point, they've earned the right to be called a contender, and the 2nd best team in the league.

They haven't EARNED anything until they actually win in the playoffs. Teams have had very good and great regular seasons and get bounced out of their first playoff game. Like our very own 07 Cowboys, 08 Titans, 08 Giants and last year's Falcons.

I said "to this point" they've earned the right to be called 2nd best. There's no debating that. It doesnt mean it will be the same in the playoffs. It doesnt even mean it will be the same by the time we get to the playoffs. But it does mean only the Packers have proved to be better TO THIS POINT.

I did. That's all that matters. TO THIS POINT means very little except playoff positioning. No one will remember anything about the 49ers this season if they go out and lose their first playoff game. Well people will remember but not in a positive.
