... would you root for the Colts to go undefeated this year?

Naturally if we're playing them in the Big Game, we'd all want to hang their first loss on them. I can't think of anything cooler.

BUT, assuming they go on to play some other random NFC team and are undefeated at the time, would you be rooting for them to go 19-0 this year?

I think maybe I would. If for no other reason than to wipe that smug s-eating grin off of those 72 Dolphins.

Anyway, the Colts sure look good enough to do it.

I can't stand those Dolphins celebrating every year when the last undefeated falls. I like the way Indy plays football and wouldn't mind seeing them go undefeated at all. Peyton has been unjustly maligned by the fans and media for way too many years - reminds me of other stars like Jordan (basketball) and Lemieux (hockey) in some respects.

I would root for the Colts over any NFC team except Dallas. But I would like some revenge for Super Bowl five.

ya if the cowboys arent in it. I am definitely rooting for the AFC and the colts. Anyone but the patriots and eagles, im so glad both of them are down this year, and hopefully neither makes the playoffs.
Would be really interesting to see them go 19-0, then we wouldnt have to hear about how magical tom brady is and how peyton only has stats. I like Peyton like 10000 times more than Brady.
Also very annoying to see the 72 dolphins so stuck up always. They would never come close to undefeated in this day and age of salary cap and parity. I hope Peyton goes undefeated and shoves it in all of their faces.

Absolutely I would root for them to go 19 - 0

I'm so sick of hearing of the 72 dolphins record I could puke. Here is a little known fact. In the history of the NFL, the dolphins in 1972 had the 2nd easiest schedule in the history of the NFL. Yes, the HISTORY of the NFL. Look it up, I swear its true.
That said, yes, they still won the superbowl, but they were in the superbowl the year before and got beat by the boys, so they already had a solid team, but having the 2nd easiest schedule in the HISTORY of the NFL takes something away from it in my opinion.

Secondly. Whey can't the remaining dolphins cheer for another team to accomplish what they've accomplished? Thats what sports is about, breaking or tying records. But not those sniveling 72 dolphins. They don't want to share any of their glory. If the boys don't make the superbowl this year, Go Colts go !!!!!

I'd root for the Colts, but then you'd have TWO teams gloating about going undefeated instead of one. The 72 Dolphins would become less special, but not invisible.

I don't have any problem with the Colts going undeafeated...but I do want to see an NFC team put a whooping on the Colts so we can stop hearing about how dominate the AFC is.

We beat the #3 team in tha AFC and Dominated the #2 team only to lose it in OT.

Personally, I'd love to see the Colts go unbeaten. To me, the Dolphins team was not one of the greatest of all time but because of the undefeated record, they get a great deal of consideration. I wouldn't mind seeing the Colts go unbeaten.

I'd root for the Colts, except I made a bet about 6 years ago (right before the draft) that Ryan Leaf would win the Superbowl before Peyton Manning. Yeah, I am clearly wrong but I don't have to pay up unless Manning wins one. :)

Seriously though, they're unstoppable at this point and I think we can all agree that they're probably going to win it. I'm rooting for the boys first (obviously) but after that, I won't have a rooting interest, I'll just be watching to see good football.

Does it count if Leaf gets a job as a team mascot, and then that team wins the Super Bowl? Otherwise, you're screwed.

Nahhh I wouldn't root for them. I never root for other teams anyway unless they help Dallas by beating another team for us. I don't like Peyton manning, I can't stand all that crap he does at the line of scrimmage. It's like watching someone with Tourettes Syndrome play QB... He and his brother Elisha always have a whiny, crybaby look on their face when things don't go their way....So no, I hope they don't go undefeated and I hope they lose the Super Bowl as well.

I dont think the Colts will go undefeated or even make SuperBowl.

Tom Brady is the modern day Montana.(maybe not talent wise, but SB's and cool)

Peyton Manning is the modern day Marino.(better than Marino even, same result - no rings)

I would definitely be rooting for them all the way to the super bowl. Somehow i just think there is a loss on there schedule or a huge let down. Can you imagine the pressure of not just having to win a game but having that monkey on your back every single week to have a perfect season. They have some tough teams ahead. I see a let down.

I don't know. Have you watched any of their games this year?

I don't know if Marino ever had a running attack, or a defense like the Colts have this year.

I think saying Brady = Montana and Manning = Marino is perhaps a bit to simplistic.

The Colts made fools out of a solid Steeler team last night. They are undefeated and playing better each week. I see no letdown. The playoffs will be tough, but I think they're a solid bet to win out.

You are the one swearing it's true, why don't you look it up and provide us with some evidence to back up your claim?

According to "Dominance, The Best Seasons of Pro Football's Greatest Teams," the 1972 Dolphins had the seventh-easiest schedule of all NFL teams since 1950. The Dolphins played only two teams with winning records, the 8-6 Giants and the 8-6 Chiefs. Not counting games against the Dolphins, Miami's opponents were 70-108-4, a .396 percentage (counting ties as half a win).

Don't be so obnoxiously emphatic when your argument is based on misinformation

I understand they went an entire season undefeated but they won what was it 12 games total? The 85 bears went 15-1 and won the SB. I think that is a bigger feat than going 12-0. JMO though

If Dallas isn't going to be involved then I'd like to see it. Always cool to watch football history happen, and being 4 years old I didn't get to appreciate the 72 Dolphins perhaps as I should have.... ;)

I agree.
Dullphish always played in a VERY weak AFC East, an easy schedule benefited them for years. They almost lost that SB to the Foreskins. Wasn't that the Garo Yupremium (sp?) play on the FG that gave the Deadskins a TD, or led to the TD.

And as I stated in another thread, yes I would love the Colts to be 19-0, or if they are playing us, then 18-1
