If the Cowboys have a good a good season, is it because?

another myth.

takes grit, lol, you think Eli had grit? he chucked the ball and he had a great defense. Heck if we were half the team and a decent coach we should have wrecked them. Grit, you guys and your myths.
Grit does you no good w/o talent. Bill Bates only played STs. Started exactly one year, and he wasn't very good.

A favorable schedule (yes things can change, our opponents can beat us at any moment, or we can be ourselves!). Or could it be that this team is better than it was, with the addition of new players, new coaching, new philosophies etc etc??? Please give your thoughts
We don’t have a favorable schedule. I think I saw our SOS at #5 (could be off…‍♂️). Our division

We definitely don’t have a favorable schedule (SOS is #5, I think). Fortunately, our entire division is in the same boat.

The O/U for # of games to win is 7.5. I took the over at -130 for $2k. I don’t think we’re the best team in our division, but I think we’ll win 10 games. No idea if that will be enough to advance, but it might be.

If healthy, we’ll definitely be better on offense than last year, and we could actually be semi-special if we can ink a RB. Defense, though? Man, we looked rough last year. Not being able to stop the run is a formula for losing. Hopefully we get that sorted out. I think we’re 2 years away from having the depth to make a deep run, but stranger things have happened.

Literally not one person is saying this.
Ideal no, but favorable in the fact there are a number of what seems to be free wins because of the third place schedule. I’d argue opponent wise they have the easiest schedule of anyone in our division, even the giants got it worse.

What raises their SOS is the fact they play the eagles and commanders a total of 4 games, but they also play the jets, the bears, the panthers, the cardinals. It’s why the giants have the hardest SOS in the league, because it factors in divisional play and they have a total of 6 games against the eagles, commanders, and cowboys.

If you take out division games then the cowboys actually have the most amount of “should be” wins in the division, teams they probably outclass.

Easiest games on the eagles and commanders schedule are the Raiders and Bears. Giants get the patriots and unfortunately the 49ers as last place opponents.

Again Dallas has the jets, the bears, the panthers, and the cardinals. They have games against the giants, bears, jets, and panthers all by week 6, that’s by far the easiest starting schedule of anyone in the division. Sure Dallas has a tough final stretch but it’s not that much harder than anyone else in the division if you take a look at schedules.

Coaching staff is key.

On defense: Matt Eberflus knows the NFC North, coming from Chicago. We got the Packers, Lions, Vikes and Bears on the schedule. Eberflus will have our Boys ready for them defensively.

On offense: Klayton Adams knows the NFC West coming from the Cardinals. We got the Cardinals on the schedule and if we see either of the 49ers, Seahawks or the Cardinals in the playoffs, Klayton will have some insights on them.

Now what I don't have a feeling for are the AFC West teams we have on the schedule. Chiefs at home and Broncos in that altitude worry me, but I think we will be good vs the Raiders and Chargers.

The NFC East is what it is. If we are healthy, I don't fear the Eagles or the Commanders tbh.

I'm predicting 11-13 wins this year. We were not that far off before the wheels fell off when Dak went down. We had a really good offseason. Optimism is off the charts for me as a Cowboys homer, but I think the Cowboys will have a really good season this year.

If they have a good season (not sure how everyone will define a good season) it is because of these things:
1) Good coaching
2) Health
3) Having a competent 2025 offseason
4) Development of young players
5) A little luck

I predict the Cowboys will do good enough to give folks hope all the way until the bye week.

After the bye week (week 10), reality kicks in, and we get throttled late season. We could lose 4 or 5 in a row easily.

I was picking 8-10 wins, but after looking at the schedule, 6-7 seems more likely.
I think 8-10 is more accurate unless you think we absolutely suck. Let me give you a pessimistic prediction.

NFCE
3-5

NFCN
1-3

AFCW
2-2

The Jets and Panthers. That gives us 8 wins right there. I think we'll get more, but 8 wins minimum.

Schedule means nothing.

If you’re legit then you’re legit.

If you’re not then you’re not.

The fakes will be exposed sooner or later.
Those consecutive years of 5th easiest schedules because the East and the majority of the NFC being weak is over.

It created fools gold for the fans and the media

Which team do we beat in the NFC North?

Bears and Minnesota have really loaded rosters and the Bears new coach ain't no joke.......perhaps JJ McCarthy not being NFL ready?

When was the last time we lost to an entire division? You don't think we can take one game from either Minnesota, Chicago, or Green Bay? Are they great teams? Just the law of averages says we win one. We won 7 games last season without a starting QB for half the season and many injuries. All I am suggesting is average is our floor. I think we potentially have a better than average team.

Too many variables to point to as the main reason if that happens …… the biggest IMO would be if we witness a major culture change.

Multiple what if, not probable scenarios aligned like the stars for that to happen in answer to the OP.

Vegas ain't totally stupid.

Your take is that a team that had to go on the road for the entire playoffs (3) games and play in a SB against an undefeated Tom Brady team didn't have grit? I'm sure now, you have no clue what grit means.
