I don't believe they have to win out but they do have to beat Dallas.

If we beat them it's over, their best possibly record at that point would be 11-5 and we would have 12 wins just there. So impossible to win the division if we win this game. That's why I said they'd have to win out. If they take any loss from this point on (even if they beat us here), all we would have to do is win ONE game and they wouldn't be able to win the division because we'd have 12 wins and they'd have no possible way of catching that with 5 losses.

Obviously there are some scenarios where we "lose out" where they can get in without having to win out... but I guess I'm just really hoping that doesn't happen, but they'd still have to beat us for those.

thank you that is what I have been trying to convey to one of my relatives for the past 3 days. this knucklehead even did research to show me I was wrong and it came up the exact same stuff I was telling him. but for some reason he thinks if the giants win they will get the division and homefield
Looks like grounds for a bet.

In all honesty, a Giants win this Sunday pretty much tells me the Giants are a wildcard. Even if the Giants win, I don't see them winning the division. Could the Cowboys lose to the Lions and Bucs? Yes. But that would still mean the Giants have to win out against the Lions and Commanders. I am giving the Eagles games a wash thinking both the Cowboys and Giants beat them. I don't see the Giants winning the division even if they beat the Cowboys.

A Giant loss this weekend will begin the spiral to missing the playoffs. I doubt they will make it with their remaining games as Washington and Detroit will beat them IMO.

We are 11-1, they are 8-4, we would have to lose at least 3 of the final four (including the Giants game) just for them to have a shot at it (by winning out)
It would then be:
11-2
9-4

They would have the tie-breaker.

After the Dallas/Giants game, two Dallas losses and 2 Giants wins would put them ahead.

No they wont and if they did win it wouldn't surprise me with the way the East battles each other but i really do want revenge for week 1 ----- and i do not want this game to be close at all ( as the assistant coach said in remember the titans LEAVE NO DOUBT ) i would like to see a 3 score victory but 95% sure that wont happen LOL

All the penalties reminded me of the minnesota game lol

The best record they can get if they win out from here is 12-4. The worst record we can have if we lose out is 11-5. So realistically they need to win out even if they beat us to win the division. If we both ended up 12-4 it would mean the Cowboys beat one of the Bucs, Lions, or Eagles and I think the Cowboys would end up winning the head to head tiebreaker with the Giants.

It's not going to matter because the NFC East is over Sunday night. =)

I'm more worried about Tampa and Detroit than I am about the Giants, TBH.

HtoH is the first tiebreaker. If the Giants win, they own it.

Let's say NY does win, that leaves them two games behind us yet has the advantage if we ended up tied. Any combination of a Giants loss and a Boys win in the last 3 games clinches it for us.

NY does have to win out no matter what. Only one scenario where they can win 3 and lose one is if Dallas loses out.......that won't happen :)

I think you need to review the #1 tiebreaker :)
