1) If the Cowboys were eliminated and Philly, NYG, or WFT needed the Cowboys to defeat a division rival in week 17, what would you want the Cowboys to do?

Top on my hated division rival list is the Eagles, then the Giants, then the WFT (only incompetence and Rivera being a good guy saves them). But I would want the Cowboys to give it their best shot for one reason. We may need a return favor in a following year. I would hope for no injuries and I would definitely not watch.

I can't recall a final game of the season where a NFC East division rival needed an already eliminated Cowboy team to defeat another division rival for a playoff spot. Is this the first time the Cowboys need one NFC East division rival to beat another in the final week for a playoff spot? Anyone remember?

I remember the Cowboys being in a numerous win-and-in week 17 games.

Heard Smith will be back. Should be a good game, but I expect the iggles to go all out.

I would want the Cowboys to do their best because nobody should be handed the division because the opponent in the last game handed it to them. Both teams competing for the division championship should have to earn it against the best their opponent has to give.

2019 the Cowboys needed the Giants to beat the Eagles. They, of course, failed. But they did seem to try.

Frankly I would want the players to go out and fight for their jobs to show they belong. I want to see guys like Gregory continue to shine and Wilson, Diggs. I worry about the draft after the season not during it so yes I would want this team to end on a positive note. Given the fact the divisions finish off against rival teams It would give me pleasure bumping a team like Washington out of the playoffs

Fans really don't understand that players don't tank..neither do coaches..that's for fans..and sometimes front offices..not sure why people in here don't understand this

I don’t know why this has been such a hard concept to explain lately here:

losing should never be the norm here, ever.
The Eagles will try to win. This is Hurts chance to become a starting quarterback. This a national televised game. This game will come down to injuries. To be honest the Football Team should want to lose. They really need a young quarterback.

Thanks. Yep, I forgot all about that recent one :) My memory is fuzzy on that game. Thought the Giants teased for a little while before throwing in the towel. Can't really remember that game much. Can't remember if the Giants fought for a while and then went home a little early.

It was 20-17 going into the 4th, then they fell apart.

The Eagles coaches need to go out on a high note, so I think they’ll try to win. They want their rookie QB to go out on a high note and they need Philly fans (and team management) to think that the main problem with the team was Carson Wentz inexplicably playing like Josh Rosen and throwing INT’s like they didn’t even matter.

The bad loss to the Cowboys made those coaches look stupid and they’ll not want to follow that up by looking awful against The Football Teamers. They’ll try to win.

The players are another thing entirely. They may already be in the midst of their offseason in their minds. The coaches keeping them focused will be the big question, IMO.

The Eagles probably do not feel the need to play for a higher draft pick since they already have 2 young QBs on the roster. I think the Eagles will try to win. The problem is, they are really not a very good football team. They make the kind of stupid mistakes bad teams make.

For the most part, yes. But when it comes to rivalries it can get petty. Back in 1988 the Giants needed the 49ers to beat the Rams in the last game of the season to make the playoffs. The Rams destroyed the eventual super bowl champs 38-16. To a lot of people (including those calling the game) the 49ers put up a lackluster effort to spite the Giants. The 49ers didn't need that game, but they played their starters. So to speak. I remember thinking that was so cool since I hated the Giants.

They are good enough to beat the Commanders and that's all they need to be on Sunday. Hurts is the new QB, the HC needs to validate that move by getting a W otherwise there will be front office questions around the move from Wentz.
