If the same TO situation had happened to the Boys in the 90s

Dan Patrick brought up a good point last week.

He basically questioned what would the Cowboy players (including Emmitt, Irvin, and Moose) had done if a player that had been with the team for one year started questioning Aikman’s abilities and being an overall cancer on the team. Dan said that no one, besides Hugh Douglas, appeared to stand up for McNabb and that concerned him.

I for one think that the O-Line would have taken care of business themselves, and we wouldn’t have heard another word out of that player. Leon Lett might have joined in on the fun.

Charles Haley would have grabbed him and stuffed him into a small crate if it happened in the '90's.

Then he woul have went out to the parking lot and pissed on his car.....

Well, back in the Jimmy Johnson days, if a 33-year old star wide receiver had done this, he most likely would have cut him to make a statement. Now, if Jimmy had TO when he was 25 then he may have tried to control him more.

If T.O. was with the Cowboys in the 90's I'm not so sure Irvin would be getting along as well with T.O. as he is right now. LOL

Irvin went after a player with Scissors...he stayed on the team.

Not sure about TO.

Jimmy tended to let his star players get away with more and use the lesser players as the examples.

I doubt T.O. would get away with telling Jimmy to shut up. Jimmy may have let star players get away with more but I don't think any player would stick around telling Jimmy to shut up. I think the same could be said for Parcells.

A funny side story on the Scissorsgate thing. That same summer of '98, I was lucky enough to get on-the-field access to one of the Dolphins afternoon camp practices, and their long-time PR director Harvey Greene was standing close by during the session. I asked him his opinion of the whole incident, since Everett McIver had been a Dolphin the very previous season, and he only half-jokingly remarked that there were probably a few players on the Miami roster that would've liked to have done the same thing to McIver, LOL. Guess he wasn't universally beloved.
