If the Season were over today, would you resign Pollard?

If everyone’s contracts were on the books next season, there are about 3-5 people I would re-sign on this entire team and Pollard is not one of them

The running back market has tanked. He's been productive. I'd sign him to a reasonable deal.

I love Tony Pollard. He is a good RB and a good guy. But things have changed in the NFL. Young RBs produce enough to contribute on their teams. Older guys like Pollard start to slow down. And when Pollard slows down he will be useless. His speed is everything.

I would draft a RB in the middle rounds. I don't think teams need to use high draft picks to have a running game. Use the money on offensive linemen who can stay healthy for a full season.

For a few years, and make him the top guy at RB on this team, or would you look to sign a RB in free agency, draft a RB in rounds 2-7??
no. I am past signing RBs to a second contract.

RB by committee and there is plenty of options. no more large contracts to RBs

That's so full of wisdom. Sure, run five All Pros onto the field each season and play 5 to 11 man football...yep, essence of football.

Four games into a 17 game regular season. Too soon to project a career type decision for the first time carrying a team...or even a final decision on Smith.

No. Let another team pay a premium for him to do his retirement tour.

Running backs just don't last more than five years anymore.

If we resign him on like a 2-3 year deal at 5-6 million per year, sure.

Never sign a RB to a second contract. Rookie contract, maybe a franchise year, and move on. Unless prices come down even from their currently reduced state.

As a backup, yes at the right price. I'd be looking for a RB in the draft, round 3 and above...

Team friendly and short only. Do not pay running backs.

Nope, but I’d be looking for his replacement in rounds 2-4

The short answer is no. However, if he were willing to take a team friendly deal, then maybe. We should have drafted Devon Achane in the 2nd round over the 25 year old TE project. That would have had us sitting pretty. Now it’s more likely we use a higher pick on a running back.
