If Vanderjagt is signed do we

I don't think we have room for a kickoff specialist on our roster. The spots are too important anymore.

Maybe thats why we've signed alot of STers. That way we can get down the field in a hurry and can bring the runner down on the first hit. :)

Can someone explain this whole kickoff thing with Vanderjack?

How is it that a K, and one known for having a strong leg, not be able to kick off?

He can kick 50+ yard FG's but he can't kick the ball OFF A TEE into the endzone?

***?

No Ol buddy I can't.........I heard a short discussion on "The Ticket' and they were saying his kickoffs are short and that he has had numerous groin injuries. I would hope that he can do both .......hate losing the roster spot for another dadgum kicker......but I also like touchbacks.

It would probably mean McBriar will have to learn to kickoff

If the kicks will at least reach the 5-7 yard line, I'll take it.

We'll bring in an extra leg for training camp anyway just so Vandy doesn't have to do all the kicking in practice. Let Vandy try to kick off in the preseason games, and when Week one rolls around, if he doesn't look like he can hack it, pick up a Cortez to kick off. It's not like these kickoff specialists are a hot commodity... just find a strong legged FG kicker who can't kick straight enough to be on a roster.

sign a kickoff specialist?????? If yes who and how much?

Vanderjagt had problems with groin injuries last season and is know for endzone kickoffs.......I think we will need that kickoff guy.

If you look at the actual kickoff return Yardarge, Vanderjaqt is actually less than Vinatiere, because of superior hang time.

Is it just me or does anyone else here hate kickers, too? I hate the fact that they have become so important to the games' outcome. too many games coming down to the wire, resting on the shoulders of an outsider. Are they even "real" football players? or real people with real feelings, for that mater?

I don't mean to sound Kickerist, but most of them are pansies that couldn't cut it on the soccer field. I just think it's a sin that the other 50 + players on a roster bust there butts day in and day out at practice, while these scrawny kickers come in and kick a couple of balls and just leave and go back to whatever those "people" do. Ask Larry Allen what he thinks about kickers.

I think this is the consensus around the league too. no one wants to sit next to these guys on the bus or the plane. In training camp, you see them sitting at their own table eating be themselves.

when I played, I never even knew our kickers' names. we had kicker 1, and kicker 2. Maybe we should just write kickers out of the sport. yea thats an idea. or better yet let a "real" football player kick in his place? I think the game would be better. anybody with me?

No need to apologize for being correct.

Vanderjagg.

:bang2:

Owner of the biggest choke kick in the history of the NFL. Unblocked, no rush and a decent hold and he can't get it past the f'in 15 yard line.

And, T.O.'s a nice guy compared to this idiot.
