A rusty Romo has a better chance of beating Miami than a razor sharp Romo has against Carolina. The Panthers have a solid defense and have 26 sacks this season. The Panthers D took Aaron Rodgers down 5 times and despite 336 yards and 4 TD's by Rodgers Carolina put up 37 points. The Cowboys defense is going to have their hands full trying to defend Cam Newton who's a duel threat. Even a great day by Romo isn't going to be enough if the defense can't make stops.

They are legit. A tough tough ball club. They started to get hot last year, and have just kept that momentum. This isnt an accident.

That D is for real and Cam is legit.

But I do think they are beatable..... We catch a few breaks here and there, play solid football.

But I wouldnt bet on that!! Just hoping for it.

And pull within a game of first... Do you start to think playoffs are possible.

P.S. yes I know the way things are looking right now that's a pretty big if, but right now we are just two games down in the loss column

Can we just worry about beating the Dolphins in 5 days?

its 12/1 odds on Division 33/1 for the Super Bowl

Its def done with heart, its not a smart bet but I do think we can pull it off, the NFCE is just so damn bad that anything is possible at this point

Granted the NFC East is weak but the Cowboys have been the weakest team and they're currently 2 games behind everyone in the division. They have 3 teams they have to overcome and I don't see it happening with the remaining schedule they have.

All true but let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Miami will have it's own worries

My response was to someone who has already crossed that bridge handing the Cowboys a win over Carolina.

The odds on the division are such that a $100 bet is worth the risk.

I'm still not 100% sold on Cam due to his numbers but he is a playmaker who will give the Cowboys defense a lot of trouble. The Panthers are beatable every team is but unless the Cowboys completely turn things around under Romo and the defense starts playing a lot better Carolina should win by at least 2 scores. Carolina could start to come down at some point it's going to take a loss to take some steam out of them.

The whole team would have to raise up some levels. Most of this team has taken steps back this season.

Wouldn't want to face a 10-0 Panthers team. I know the Cowboys beat a 9-0 Colts team back in 06 and a 13-0 Saints team back in 2009 but those were much better Cowboy teams that made the playoffs those seasons. We'll just have to see how improved the team is under Romo but even when the Cowboys were the healthiest they've been all season in the opener it took a dogfight to escape with a win vs the Giants. Despite over 350 yards and 3 TD's by Romo the defense was getting gashed when that game was on the line.

The Cowboys will obviously be better offensively in the passing game under Romo but with the running game not nearly where it was last season and the defense consistently not being able to make critical stops it's going to be extremely difficult to overtake 3 teams within your division that are all up by 2 games. The team to keep your eye on is Washington they smoked the Saints on Sunday and the schedule seems to play in their favor once they get past Carolina. They could end up pulling the rug out from everyone in the division.

They all have to get on a losing streak and the Cowboys have to get on a winning streak and a lengthy one.

They don't have to go on any losing streaks. They merely have to have to do what they've been doing -- playing .500ish football. They can't, however, go on any winning streaks.

I'm hoping the Panthers are undefeated on Thanksgiving.

Here's how to beat the Panthers.

Put Byron on Olsen and lock him down the entire game. If he can do it against Gronk, he can ANYONE

Attack Norman with Dez since they refuse to double team

Contain Cam. That's it.

how about curing cancer too while were at it

They all have to start dropping games because no matter what the Cowboys do their destiny is in the hands of the Giants, Eagles and Commanders who are all 2 games up. Playing 500 football the rest of the way will give the Giants 8 wins which means the Cowboys would have to win 9 games to overtake them because they'll likely lose a tiebreaker to the Giants.

Currently the Cowboys are tied with NY and Philly at 2-2 within the division but the Cowboys have the worst conference record in the division at 2-6. Washington may be in the best position because they're 1-1 within the division and have the best conference record at 4-2. As I mentioned once they get past Carolina the schedule plays in their favor.

Panthers are good at home and play in a weak division like ours. Away from home and they are beatable. But we play poorly at home...still worth watching.
