If we can't keep Marinelli, should we go after Jim Haslett?

I would still prefer to stick with the 4-3. If anything because switching from 4-3 to 3-4 personnel and vice versa doesn't lead to good defenses. And I still believe that the league's offenses are designed to be stopped with a 4-3. So, if Marinelli leaves (I doubt he will), I would probably look for somebody like Elberflus or maybe look at one of Seattle's assistant coaches.

Just because Haslett is good at beating us doesn't mean he's good at beating anyone else.

The reality is for the most part, Haslett has had their defense playing pretty well for years. Top 10 at times. You could argue their defense has kept them afloat when the offense was a turnover machine. When your offense is crap alot, the defense will break down.

Having said that, I can see him going to NYG's when they ditch their D coordinator in 3 weeks.

London Fletcher completely went off on Haslett last week. It's was extremely insulting, and unlike Fletcher. I wondered what happened between those two.

The summary of quotes:
He’s clueless as a defensive coordinator. Mike Shanahan recognized early that this guy does not know what he’s doing. Jay Gruden better get him out the door, because he’s probably backstabbing Jay Gruden like he did everybody else. Jim Haslett is so bad that he would’ve made the ’85 Bears into a mediocre defense.”

Maybe someone should give Fletcher a shot. I think he'd make a great DC.

Indigenous Peoples fans have been complaining about Haslett for years. Dallas seems to be the only number he has.

I would go after Ryan after the Jets fire him if he is willing to keep a 4-3 scheme. That Ryan can coach defense

I don't think Marinelli is going anywhere. I think Jerry will extend his contract and continue building on defense. I think right now it is important to stick with this scheme instead of changing it once again. Hard to get anything going when you constantly change the scheme.

Matt Eberflus would get serious consideration and rightly so.

Haslet was 4-3 coach before coming to Washington. He was not 4-3 exclusively but that is what he ran when he was HC in NO. Personally think that his 3-4 defenses are worse than any of the 4-3 he ran.

Exactly. For whatever reason, his blitzing scheme only gives us problems. Every other team easily figures it out and trashes the Skins.

Apparently this guy is done in Washington. Now, the only way i would like this to happen is if we cant keep Rod.
Opinions?

more importantly Dallas needs to do something at CB and cover Safety and of course pass rusher or it won't matter who they bring in.
