Last year I was going crazy watching Newman cover some no namer and Ag cover Moss, plaxico or some other #1 reciever. That whole each Cb has his side was driving me crazy .

I undestand sometimes but for the most part can We put our best Cb on their best WR!!..I dont want to see Moss beating Glenn. Let Him prove himself and beat newman( if He can).

Would you prefer it if we put Glenn covering the slot guy, and not having a sideline to protect him, and him getting burned by the slot guy for a TD? Then would you be mad that we didn't have our guy who is best suited to play in the slot playing there?

It's not like Newman never covers the other teams best guy, many teams put their best guy in the slot to get mismatches, which doesn't happen against us.

Ideally in a 2 WR set, you want your best corner on the second best WR. In theory, he should be able to cover him man up without help. then you can roll a safety to the other side and still drop one in the box or pick up a TE coming out.

Now in a 3 WR set, you want your best man to man person in the slot. This is where the quick hits come from mostly. The slot is usually the hot read in a blitz situation.. and you can still roll over to the outside to help the outside corners and let the man to man be in the center of the field, where there is possible help from the linebackers if needed and the QB has to throw over people, allowing for some catch up if need be.

what's going to drive me crazy is if we don't hit that damn waiver wire when teams cut to 53 and get someone to go with henry because i'm a little worried about the injury to t- new.

i would let t-new take the first month off and heal if it was up to me.
