If we don't win the division will we be a road team or home team in the wild card game?

Sometimes I wish the NFL did away with divisions so the seedings can go by who has the better record. I'm not interesting in the Cowboys going to San Fran or Tampa Bay. :(

Yeah if the season ended today, we would go to Tampa despite having a 2 1/2 game lead over them (if there were no divisions)

If we were able to steal the division from the Eagles it's not a lock we'd be the #1 seed. Despite us beating the Vikings they still have a better record than us right now (at least until their game against the Jets) and they have a pretty cake schedule.

Road games at Titans and Commodes are when we could drop another game. We should win at home against the Egirls.

Since Commanders switch QBs they starting winning. Heinicke is pretty good I don't know why thought Wentz was the answer over him.

Because he had half a good season back in 2017 I think lol people still hang onto that idiot. I think what I heard in the off season is he is totally unlikeable like as a teammate/friend so he probably wouldn’t even be a good backup

Not 2017, I looked up his stats he threw 1 pass.

Last year was the year he got the most play he was just ok 20 TDs 15 INTs.

Just seems like when he plays they win more compared to the other trash they have.

He probably is unlikeable wouldn't surprise me, doesn't really matter to me. I hope they never win another game in their franchises existence unless it helps the Cowboys with playoff seeding or something.

Exactly, the only way you host a game as a wildcard team is if all the division winners get knocked off and you're the highest seeded team standing.

The wildcard means no home games . Seems the Giants of Manning vintage won a SB it can be done but it’s very difficult .

The GB loss in the standings is the problem . It’s like the Eagles losing to the Saints coming up . Cowboys need to basically be one game out when the Philly game happens.

In order for us to get the one seed, we need to win out and have Minnesota lose at least another game. Plus, need Philly to drop at least a third game somewhere. This is the likeliest path to the one.

Alternatively, we can drop one more game (As long as it's not to Philly), have Minnesota drop two more games. While Philly loses three games. Honestly this seems like the most least likely scenario. It's alot of losses to ask from those other teams.

I personally believe Minnesota is on borrowed time. I do not believe they are better than us, Philly, or SF. If they miraculously got to the SB, they would get mauled by KC, healthy Buffalo, or even Baltimore imo. That 9-2 record is very flawed. The game plan is to throw it up to Jefferson and just hope he comes down with everything. That won't work against great to elite teams.

The NFL needs to look at changes to the postseason after this year. Our reward for being 13-4 or 12-5 etc is visiting a Tom Brady led TB team who will have 7 or 8 losses. They get rewarded by hosting a playoff game just for winning a very bad division.

If we're a wild card team we would face the worst division winner, right now that would be the Bucs. Could change to SF by then though, but definitely looks like it would be one of the two unless the Vikings completely spiral out.
Great. So what you're saying is that we're going to be one and done in the playoffs yet again.

I see nothing cake about that schedule tbh. While most of those teams don't have good records, most of them are capable of competing for a win.

If we win out we only need Philly to lose 1 additional game than against us. We would win the tie breaker and division due to better division record in that case, because they already lost to Washington and they would lose to us thus 2 division losses while we would only have 1.

I don't think they can catch the Eagles but if they keep winning they can force the Eagles to play even their last few games. Then again, the Cowboys night need that last game against Washington too and Washington will be happy to spoil our season if they can.
