If We Had Our 1st Round Pick Who Would You Want?

I think at that point in the draft I would look to move into the early second round personally. We would have a pick higher than #51 and would probably be able to move back just enough that we could get the best safety on our draft board. I guess if we stayed in the 1st with that pick I might consider best lineman available? But, really it doesn't both me all that much that we don't have a 1st; I'll take Roy over any WR that we could have picked at that spot.

I would try to trade it for another teams 2010 1st round pick and hope they have an off year (like we did with Cleveland and Buffalo).

I follow the drafts pretty closely. Some would say way too closely, and that I need to get a life. However........this draft sucks. There's some talent, but not much.

Probably the weakest draft class in a decade if you ask me.

I would probably seriously consider trading down to get a 1st in 2010 so I'd have two then. I don't know that there would be anyone I just had to have in the 20-25 range this year.

Probably a little biased here because I saw him play against a pitiful UVA team last year.

He just totally dominated in that game and played with tons of fire.

They say he struggles in space somewhat but he could really put a hurting on the other QB from what I saw.

LOL, I'd throw my remote on draft day if we took White in round 3.

This draft is just incredibly weak in areas of need for us. No stud safeties. Weak wide recievers. Weak nose tackles.

There are some interesting linemen coming out, and we could use that, but otherwise it is just a weak, weak draft.

What is this draft's strength? Linebackers and tackles, I guess.

This is a very good class for WRs, imo. I also agree that this class is fairly strong at OT.

If he was there...for sure.

Otherwise, i agree with those that say best OT available. There should be 1-2 very good ones still on the board.

William Beatty would be the LT available unless you traded up. If my scouts told me he could be the ultimate, I would take him. I think the Lions will take him. Otherwise, I'm trading out. After pick 20, the players start to mesh together until around pick 42. Then, it drops off a little bit and stays pretty good into round 3. There are good players from 43-100. The depth is nice in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Superstars, I don't know. Good players who have a chance, yes.

I would rather pick twice in round two or twice in round 3 or three times in round 3, than have a first round pick in this draft, especially if I can't get a LT. If you can get four picks in that range, you are going to get some good prospects.

The teams after pick 20 are going to want out of round 1, imo.

Eben Britton may be there too. I think the Lions would take him. If Kacklin is there, I'd go for it. If Crabtree fell to within 4-5 picks of us, I may try to go up and get him.

Yeah, Britton is rising, but his lack of arm length may force him to RT. He's not a sure bet at LT. I bet the Colts would like to have Macklin, but he may be out of reach for them. Crabtree won't fall out of the top 10, imo. However, you never know.
