If we have the 1 pick in the Draft who do we select?

Funny things happen every draft cycle, but this class is not looking strong. I'd compare it to 2022, which had zero NFL-caliber QBs and maybe 3 blue chip prospects (Aiden Hutchinson, Kayvon Thibodeux, Kyle Hamilton).

In fairness, Shedaur and Cam Ward are still better prospects than Kenny Pickett, but they're rough around the edges. And who are your other blue-chippers? Travis Hunter is a phenom, but is there anyone else who has the NFL drooling?
It’s early…but I honestly think Hunter is the only blue chipper in the class.

His ceiling is a good bus driver in the NFL IMO. Arm talent seems pretty average by NFL standards.
I think his arm is good enough. Montana had a barely average NFL arm
Peyton Manning even before his surgery had a below average NFL arm
I question what is between his ears and the dead weight of Daddy

Say Jeanty is gone when Dallas is up 1st round do the Pokes set to improve the run game in hopes it opens up the passing game take an Omarion Hampton out of North Carolina .

My strategy all along has been DT round one Edge round 2 to upgrade a paper thin DLine then hopefully Dylan Sampson Tenn is on the board round 3 to team up with Dowdle .

I’d disagree…between the ears is one of his best traits. He’s calm in the pocket and is quick to diagnose.

The arm talent is my concern.

disagree about the cranium contents but I really do not see any problem with his arm

A smart GM trades it for a hoard of picks. Jerry gives it up for a 4th round pick and calls Mingo his first round pick.

If you don't take the qb, you have to take the trade down and get your picks. You would get a bunch of picks. Trading back in the 1st, a 2nd, a 4th, a next year's 1st, and more. I'm not sure if you can talk to teams about trades before the draft starts.

There is no family drama. He is raised in a household of a 2 sport pro athlete who was under as much media scrutiny any DAL player will ever be.

He thrived in it - now he is teaching his son how to navigate this and still be a perennial QB. Dak had to get a masters in leadership to learn how to do this - it is a skill.

The fact that this kid doesn't falter under the big lights is why we should take him even if it comes with his father as the HC. Deion resonates with the kids - he can get them motivated and ready to play more than an old washed up re-tread hag. It's time we put some respect on Deion's name for where he took Colorado with Travis and Shadeur.

That's why I put drama in quotation marks. Only people outside of their circle have seemed to label them as dramatic. Kid reeks of confidence and ability - he's a DAWG!!!!!

I LIKE THAT DRAFT!!!!! Sampson and Kaleb Johnson are 2 of my favorite RB's because they have the least amount of carries (I think) out of ALL the eligible RB's this year.

Not ideal given the recent extension, but I'm taking one of the QBs - Ward or Sanders. You win in this league with top end talent at the QB position. Jones has been fortunate to find very good QBs in Romo and Prescott later in the draft process than usual, but more times than not the high end guys taken in the first round move he needle in the playoffs.

With that said, I think the chances Jones actually does this would be less than 10%.

Jeanty I might get round one early for Dallas but if he’s gone the DL needs a young talent infusion like Guyton Beebe and Smith on the OL . Sampson is a Pollard prototype can catch out of the backfield has speed with Dowdle the compliment back .

Walter Nolen DT round one makes sense if Jeanty is gone . You have to remember a home run threat in the backfield brings more defenders closer to the line of scrimmage which should open up your passing game

Trade down for picks.

If no offers...take Hunter.

This team would not take a QB.

Not sure if there is a DT or OT worth the first pick.

Hunter is probably the best player in the draft

You could play him at CB or S if you want him on D

He could easily play WR as well.
