Would he be ok with the defensive coordinator, and players we are going to be "all in" to keep on this roster. What if these guys aren't a good fit for the coaches scheme. I know we have to upgrade the roster, but what to do? I guess we will just have to deal with it, especially if a player signs a multi year deal. Please give your thoughts, I'm drained thinking about all of this!!

Depends on how good they are. Like in Carolina Canales is keeping the DC because his D was really the only bright spot. It actually happens a lot. Even Big Bill kept Zimm on.

It's a free hit for any HC. The whole league knows that it's Jerry's last at-bat and that he's working with a QB that doesnt have the psychological composure (probably regardless of roster) to go deep into the play-offs.

Mike out Zim in.
Next chapter of Jerryball begins.
Why? Because we like our guys.
  • We "should " be trading Dak, Parsons, and Martin so we're loaded with high draft picks in 2025 when we're picking top 5.

That's a good enough endorsement for a defensive coordinator, 'old school.'

sounds good to me, we've got to start over anyways down the road

jerry could hire a rock and set it on the sidelines and call it the DC, and you guys would be falling all over yourself talking about it. As if it matters one way or the other. I wonder who the rock is looking at in the draft, is he going to pick up a fat guy for the middle of the defense?

Remember Jerry loves your support of the team, now make dak's jersey sale up to number 4.
oh

When your GM is literally both incapable and/or unwilling to admit mistakes and cut his losses, the mistakes become big snowballs rolling downhill season after frustrating season.

The best GMs in this league don’t fall in love with their players because their job is on the line to win a championship. Great NFL GMs have a cold, clear eyed view of their talent and are not afraid to admit mistakes, make changes and know when to be aggressive.

Our GM and his giggling son have lifetime contracts - win or lose - and they have an endless source of cash and support regardless of results. What could possibly go wrong with this model? Haha.

Drained thinking about what? They’ve done nothing. They’ve made no changes. They won’t make any changes. Nothing about this offseason will be any different. Nothing about next season will be different. What are you drained about? Literally nothing has or will happen.

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:This is the bottom line!!! You can shift all the deck chairs on the Titanic any way you like, however until your get rid of the captain steering into icebergs every season, you're still going to sink.

I can give my favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, as an example. Their GM has built a solid core squad but also has allowed good players and fan favorites to go elsewhere if their contracts would be too burdensome and hurt the team long-term. As a result the team is a perennial contender and won a championship in 2021 with the potential for more over the next decade.
He knows to invest in good players early in their careers with team friendly deals but not pay guys who are getting past their prime "legacy contracts".

No worries, GM Jerry has a plan. All is well.
All is well when it goes according to plan usually but it's when the choo-choo goes off the tracks that things get messy because little thought went into formulating a true sound backup plan.

would anyone be shocked if Jerry backtracks and retires Mike McCarthy now? I can see it. Mcarthy aint safe even right now. Depends on how well these interviews are going.
