And what would you have done at RDE? Rod clearly values that spot way more than the 1T.
And way more than a franchise QB
We have one.
I dont think people realize this but once we signed romo there was no chance we were taking a qb before the end of the draft. Theres no way you can draft manziel and let him sit the bench for 3 years and theres no way you can let romo sit the bench making 100 million. When will people undrstand this? Im not the biggest romo fan in the world but once he signed the contract thats it. We are stuck with him.. complain about the contract if you want.. But what would be even worse would be to commit 100 million to your starting qb an then turn around and draft one in the first round.. come on man.
A franchise QB is usaully someone you depend upon to win the last game of the season if needed to get into the playoffs.
So what happens when Romo walks away like Troy? I guess we need to go through the 2000-2005 span again with nothing to root for. Oh well, enjoy.
And the one we have could if we have him a better supporting cast. We finally fixed the OL and then have the worst defense manageable. But of course that's on him too.

Dramatic much? We could draft one next year or even strike on a developmental guy this year.
The highest rated guy on the board at the time was a franchise QB, not a bs developmental 5th rounder that every team drafts and dumps 3 years later. Its ridiculous especially when the scouting department had him rated higher than a guard.
I missed where Manziel was the solution to our problem.
You Manziel lovers are priceless.
You act as though a first round qb is a guarantee. If he was he doesn't fall that far.
Demarcus Lawrence the truth - before we go anointing Lawrence the next Crawford (Oh, I forgot people around here are still anointing Crawford still), well before we say he is the next best thing it is pretty obvious that he was the last decent thing. Half of the guys sacks where coverage sacks, the guy lacks speed and is undersized. Be prepared to get run on this year. Our 2 starting ends will be playing at 250lbs, our DTs at 280 and 300.
This team is not just a pass rusher away. We need a QB of the future and maybe now with Romo and the bad back. We need a RB so we don't need to pay ransom money to a 27 year old RB in free agency AGAIN. We need another WR. We need a starting RT and RG for 2015. We need EVERY defensive line position(not just a situational pass rusher, and two guys coming off major injuries who are basically on 1 year deals). We need a starting OLB and possible a starting ILB(before or after Sean Lee has career ending neck surgery), we need a starting safety, and throw you might as well throw in a fullback too.
actually you are full of crap on Lawrence but who cares?
Funny thing is I am not even a Manziel lover (I am on the fence as much as most) but you Romo lovers gotta look at the big picture. This team is rebuilding these next 2-3 years so that means Romo will be 37 years old when this team is ready to make a big push. Simple minded fans just as yourself look at this draft and every pick as a chance to find a player for every open spot, hence draft by need.
So I am pretty sure that I will find somewhere that you want Dallas to look for a WILL linebacker in round 4, a 3rd WR in round 5, and a possible development tackle and QB in round 7.
