Quinn better at overcoming injuries than McCarthy? It would be the same, if not a game or two worse.

Quinn was exciting compared to McCarthy because his defensive scheme uses tactics that fans love. That "go for the homerun constantly" mindset is what fans love to see.

The more traditional defenses like Zimmer and most other coaches run are more boring and less aggressive, but tend to be more consistent game-to-game. Quinn's defense can dominate a game, but they can also be dominated one game later.

Every time I think of Quinn (even when he was here) I think of that game the Cowboys came back and won against his Falcons and the epic Super Bowl collapse by Quinn's Falcons against the Patriots after leading 28 to 3 at one point.

I am not overly excited with Quinn nor McCarthy, but I do think both of them are good coaches.

As a Cowboys fan though, I don't want a "good" head coach. I want a great one or at least an up-and-coming one that brings something exciting and innovative to the team.

Would we be better off if we would've let McCarthy go after that GB game and promoted Quinn to HC?
You are forgetting Quinn has a motivated new owner. Keeping him here under Jerry would not have changed much IMO. In fact, there's a good chance if MM was hired by the Commanders, he would have also had more success.

Both are good coaches. I certainly don’t want to lose Bones however. We have the top ST’s unit in football because of him.

Defense would be better but he would have to work with Dak and a new offensive scheme. I don’t have confidence Dak would have been any better.

No difference.

We don’t have Jayden Daniels. Quinn would be struggling in Washington, sitting home for the playoffs if he didn’t have a great young QB.

Imagine if they had ran Sam Howell back again this year.

McCarthy led us to 3 in a row 12 win seasons (yes they had the same horrible playoff success) and was a good coach. Quinn was such a fun coach on the defense, and the players were all in on his scheme, but he also has a history of dropping big games when they matter.

I think they are right were we need to be with coaching now unless we promote Zimmer. McCarthy gone, and if Quinn was kept he would still be the coach for another year at least.

They probably wouldn’t have been much better than they were last year. Daniels is on a whole different level than anything Washington has ever had at QB. I’m more impressed with him than I was with Mahomes when he first came out. He’s already the best QB in the division and it won’t be long before he’s a top five QB.

Quinn got beat by the Cowboys with the watermelon kick. McCarthy likes to smash watermelons night before a big game.
McCarthy is better.

Quinn would have been at the mercy of Jerry and his flawed system and so would not have had the success like he has had in Washington. He has been able to use the high draft picks and aggressive FA signings to turn them around very quickly. They still aren’t there yet, but they are looking at a brighter future than the Cowboys right now.
