If we let Dak play out the season before signing him to the big deal

I wish Jerry would try to explain why he signed Prescott, the last second, it just didn’t make sense to most people
Hell no!! He would offer too many positive words etc not trying to hear that

Of course Dak should have been made to play out the season, and talk thereafter...once the body of work of the previous contract was complete. What the Cowboys did was absolute lunacy.
Can't tell them that they think they made the best deal in history

Then Dak isn't injured, the Cowboys lose the Super Bowl by one point, and Dak can negotiate with any other team. His demands are 90 million a year, everything guaranteed, no trades.
Still better to start over , as wehave so many holes. ( SB loser also goes down fast the nextyear ,of late )

Dak was always going to get his money. You guys need to stop following the board turds that think Dak should be flipping burgers at McDonald’s. Trust the NFL insiders who said Dak would make up to 65+ in the offseason. Know one disputed that claim except some board members.
So even injured & having played like crap, you still think he'd be a premium FA?

Everyone keeps saying this but what team would pay him, after this season's results, $65 million a year??

The Cowboys paid him so that is what counts. It’s done. You guys need to find something else to complain about.

I have a better shot of winning the lottery without playing than Dak had of getting to the superbowl. What exactly has ever given anyone any indication he can get past a bad wildcard team? He sucks in big games and hasn’t even sniffed the nfc championship, much less Super Bowl.
Just a hypothetical example of the Cowboys luck over the past three decades.

The list of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks contain some that just had that one great year out of the blue.

Nobody expected to see guys like Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams or Brad Johnson hoisting a Lombardi. Dilfer had a record of 58-55 while Williams was 38-42.

The Giants won a Super Bowl in 2011 with the 27th ranked defense, 29th in pass defense. Pittsburgh won in 2008 with the 22nd ranked offense.

There is no such thing as a team without "holes". Conversely, there is no such thing as lining up a 10-man offense or defense. Somebody will be there, supported by his teammates to assist him.

Jerry made his own luck, unfortunately it’s bad luck, and this contract based on this season results is the worse of any and Jerry deserves all the self inflicted pain and see him in his box crying is priceless

he still extended jaylon smith.
i think dak still would've got signed.
what i am hoping for is a strong willed head coach with the sense to figure around jerry to get control of his team in football matters.
jerry ain't leaving.
he will not fire the gm.
so the hc needs to be wise enough to coach "around" him.
camp...practices...meetings...game prep...game day.
thats what the hc controls here...and thats it.
make it count.
coach "around" him.

Yep, it's what I have said in regards to Head Coaching or quarterbacking the Dallas Cowboys.
The number one priority in the job description of both those positions is to be able to perform your job in spite of your Owner/GM.

This is definitely not an encouraging sales pitch to become either of those posions but it is part of the reality in Dallas as HC or QB.

Even a drug induced fantasy cannot make one believe Dak would ever get to a Super Bowl..

What happens if he sustained this same injury, or has the bad season that we saw from week to week it seemed. Do we still pay him the same amount, or would we let him test the market and go from there??? You can think like Jerry or think like a SMART GM, please give your thoughts
Jerry would be enthralled by Dak’s speeches about learning and doing what it takes to get better.
He would sign him without hesitation…
Cause he’s the only fool to believe In this fantasy

To answer the question of the OP is... that there would be an entirely different near future outlook on this team's ability to contend for trophies.
As things have actually played out, now there is zero chance of SBs with this same QB.
Zero.
is Jerry leaving the GM position for this "Near Future Outlook"? if not i dont think the % would move hardly at all for a championship....
