This way, we can play against teams that weren't as good as us, we can beat up on them and guys can look good. Stupid as it sounds, it would put us back on the map, and make people believe in this team and it's players. I wouldn't be one of them because I want us to play against these top teams and actually beat them! Please give your thoughts
I never put any weight at all behind strength of schedule before the season starts.
It used to matter because It used to take teams years to rebuild. Jimmy Johnson took the Cowboys from a 1-win team to the Super Bowl in 4 years and back then that was considered amazing. These days, more people would point out reasons it should have happened sooner.
That's because teams can turn things around much faster now with the right coaching and player changes. A bad team this year may be great next year, or a great team this year may be bad next year, and that's before you factor in injuries to key players on those teams.
For example, before the season started, you would have been hard-pressed to find any Cowboys fan (even the most negative) that would have picked the Falcons to win this weekend. Now, it's much harder to find Cowboys fans who think the Cowboys will win the game.
Part of that is all of the injuries to the Cowboys this season, but a big part of it is that the Falcons have been playing a lot better this year.
The Commanders were predicted to end up last in the division this year with a bad team, a new head coach and a rookie quarterback, and yet they are leading the division.
At this point, the only thing losing does is help the Cowboys draft higher in next year's draft. That said, if they pick players like Mazi it won't matter.
