Then I hope the Panthers fire Ron Rivera and we get Norv.

I’ve been against the 90s nostalgia as much as anyone but Norv has done a world of difference for Cam. Even with Cams busted shoulder he’s on pace for best passing season of his career.

And he’s not afraid to run the QB also.

One of the quotes he had about Cam earlier this year “just get the ball out!”

This was the same thing Frank Reich told Andrew Luck. Get the ball out. After his rehab of his shoulder. He seemed a bit hesitant the first several games or so.
Since he has been on fire.

Norv would be great for Dak. Was thinking this a few nights ago.

Norv would not be great for Dak. We are basically running a Norv Turner offense now and Dak doesn’t have the skills to do it. He won’t throw downfield, he doesn’t anticipate WRs coming open, he isn’t very accurate, and he has no pocket presence. All of those things are needed to run Norv’s timing based offense. Norv the man may be able to do wonders for Dak but his system would not. Dak has already shown he can’t run it. He needs and OC with a system suited to his skill set. Until he gets one, he will struggle.

Exactly.

Dak needs an Andy Reid style of offense that can put receivers and backs in catch and run situations.

These are the two changes I think we need BADLY!

You can bring in any OC in the NFL, and it won't make a lick of difference.

None of them can throw the ball for our QB.
I don't understand why people just don't accept this as fact. He is just not a consistently good passer of the football. Like Tim tebow, all the intangibles in the world do not make up for that. It is not hate to state that simple fact we would be a much better team with a quarterback who can throw the ball

Exactly.

A lot of what Mahomes is doing compensates for the pressure that one sees on that high-octane offense. The throws he makes downfield are not a result of Reid, they are a result of Mahomes, particularly when he’s buying time in the pocket. Dak doesn’t have anywhere near the accuracy of Mahomes and the latter loves the intermediate and deep middle of the field. Dak would implode with the type of pressure Mahomes sees.

Does that mean Reid couldn’t tailor a better offense for Dak than over here? No, but even Reid would be working with those limitations and probably would be looking to draft another QB. They hit a wall with Alex Smith as well and Reid traded him.

If Rivera (and Norv) get canned, I'd say there's a great chance Norv is brought in here to save Dak.

Only snag would be that Garrett might hate it. Now it's clear he hired Linehan, but that wouldn't be the case with Norv. And he might see Norv as a threat given Norv's relationship with Jerry.

But Jerry might not care what Jason wants and do it anyway.

You’re right but think of how many scrub QBs over the year that Andy Reid gets production out of.

He’s a great coach no doubt, but every QB has a ceiling. Mahomes passed Alex Smith’s best statistical totals with Reid like games ago. Smith can run more complex offenses than Dak, though his physical skills are limited.

Norv can run a system to fit the players , can adapt to the strengths of the players. Doesn't try and have a system where the players have to adapt to it.

Ive been preaching this for a while now, everybody got likes!

When Norv came to Carolina Cam was scared Norv was going to make him fit his system. When Norv arrived he said basically, tell me what you like and dislike and we'll build a system to fit you. Cam was relieved.
Not to mention Norv is the best damn play caller I've ever seen, and I've seen a few over the decades.

I think there is more too it then this. I mean, Alex Smith played some of the best Football of his career under Reid. The only reason they Trades Smith was because they had Drafted Mahomes the year before and they knew he needed to get the time to develop. You can't pay Smith that much to sit the bench and they got draft picks plus cap relief, while getting better at the position. I mean, if you ask me, Andy Reid is exactly the guy you need for Dak. McNabb was every bit as bad as Dak with his mechanics and accuracy and probably even worse, to be honest. That's no lie.

This idea that it’s the QB coaches fault is pretty laughable honestly. This is the NFL, it’s not the position coaches job to teach basic fundemantals and mechanics. I mean what does everyone think? Some new coach is going to come in and tell Dak that he needs to plant his feet before he throws and some light bulb is going to go off and everything will be fixed? If anything Dak needs to go to 1 of those position coach gurus in the off season and have someone break everything down to scratch with him...

I created a thread about this a month ago. I know people would be poo poo about bring in an old coach but I saw Norv actually adjusting his scheme to the player instead of having the player adjust to his scheme.

He would help Dak as much as he has helped Cam. Maybe even more since Dak is familiar with his system. Zeke would benefit as well since Norv will actually run him when we are near the goal line.

Wrong and right.
