Contingent on Peters being signed, how would you predict the 2022 offensive line stacks up against the offensive line in 2022?

To me, it's a smidgen overall better even if you lose Tyron Smith. There's a drop off with Peters, for sure, particularly because he's 40. But Tyron was in and out anyway, so he may give us more overall consistency, which, I think, if Peters stays healthy, ends up being at least a wash.

Then it comes down to the addition of Tyler Smith, which I see as an upgrade.

So for me, the offensive line will be slightly upgraded overall in 2022, if we're able to get Peters signed and he plays LT with Tyler at LG.

I think the line improved before that. Removing Connor Williams and adding tyler is positive but hes now replacing Smith and McGovern replaces Williams, Steele had replaced Lael already. Overall I think we've improved if Tyler can hold his own at Tackle which I think he will.

IF we can get 15/16 games from Peters, we should be improved. Hell, Tyler replacing Connor Williams will almost do the trick. lol

BTW .....Connor is the Dolphins startin center, what does that tell ya

Improved on the second half of the season. Tyron (albeit being a trooper in playing hurt), wasn't fully fit which may have had a knock on effect as he couldn't help out Mr Holding no.52.

After 16 seasons, it'd be a mistake to assume the Cowboys would be getting that level of play. But Peters proved in 15 starts for Da Bears in 2021 that he can still get the job done. If Smith isn't quite ready for the spotlight, Peters could step in and start.

And in a more favorable scenario where Smith is up for the challenge, Peters would likely be the most experienced swing tackle in the league. It makes perfect sense why the Cowboys would pursue a deal w/Peters. Now all they have to do is close it.

Let’s get Peters 1st before we discus, if ands or butts.

How many times have we thought we had someone signed and it never happened!

We will have plenty of time to talk about Peters IF he signs!

If Peters plays well, Tyler Smith stays at LG, Steele continues to improve, and Tyron comes back in time to have an impact, I’d say it’s slightly better to the same.

Honestly, I’m beginning to think the Philbin sucks train might have some merit.

If they sign Peters it will be about the same as last season's. Tyler is hopefully an improvement over Williams and Peters is a slight downgrade from a healthy Tyron (at least last season) so I think it is a wash. If we don't sign him, we might have one of the worst lines in the league because the whole left side will be a total question mark.

The whole post is about "IF"....just don't reply if you don't want to talk theoretical... Why try to kill the thread? It's a forum and some people like to discuss things like that. It's certainly within the rules.

Massive power on 4 out of 5 positions on the OL. Guys that can get push on every 1v1 in the league. Peters would also be ideal to help bring young Smith along as his game is more like what Tyler's is than Tyron.

Right side is more technique sound and athletic. But the run blocking should be much improved on both sides of line making Cowboys less predictable and more ambidextrous.

This will not be case if McGovern plays LG, he struggles at POA.

Signing Peters makes too much sense.
