If we trade down would you prefer a 2021 2 or a 2022 1

Which would you prefer

No, I held my ground. At no point in my post did I show you any disrespect. You definitely showed me disrespect. Before I called you pissy, I showed you no disrespect in this thread. If you feel that I did, maybe you expect too much

Or maybe you have a double standard? One for others and a lower bar for yourself. I’m going with that. But by all means, continue to project all blame on the other guy. That’s what people do nowadays. Zero personal accountability.

I’m done arguing about it.

Please point out where I disrespected you before you got pissy with me

I told you I wasn't interested in this type of argument several posts again, and you kept going. So now we are going resolve it.

Please show me specifically where I offended you, and why you felt the need to put me down?

If you can give me an example, Im not gonna be a dick about it. If you give an actual example of where I offended I have no problems offering up an apology

Two things here.

1. We have 10 picks, I believe, in this draft. All of those guys are not going to get a fair shot at making this team. Too many of them, that's just the truth. We really don't need more picks this year IMO.

2. A lot of what we are reading right now, is based on puff. A lot of the guys teams will be drafting this year have not played any football, at all, since 2019. A lot of what we are seeing now is projection and that's already a problem in the NFL, on a normal year. If for no other reason then to get a full year of evaluation to actually, I don't know..... evaluate these players, I would take future picks.

I think I disagree with that. I feel the current Cowboys may be too heavy but I don’t think they’re deep. And I think there are plenty of question marks to be filled this year or next.

A very good point but I’d counter with not knowing how good next years draft will be.

If Chicago then to move down 10 spots then nothing less than 1st in 2022 and 2nd in 2021.

I lean towards the 2021-2, but it's close. It's nice knowing where you're going to pick, but it is also quite the intriguing gamble taking the next year 1st.

I'll be a wimp and say they better not take anything less than either option. If they move from 10 and only pick up a 3rd, they better only be moving down a couple spots, and even then I'm not a fan. Travis Frederick turned out to be amazing, but they got straight up robbed by the 49ers with that trade. Never want to see it again.

Give me the two this year. I'm sick of not going to the show for twenty five years. We could get a quality safety or DT there. Time to stop waiting until the third round for interior DL. The Rams had the top D last year because they were so stout in the middle. The wrong headed thinking over a quarter century has got to change.

Depends on the year of the draft. This year is very strong and deep.

Quite the opposite. Objective evaluators say it's a very weak draft except for QB, WR. There isn't a single defensive player who would break the top 20 in many drafts.

Post of the week.

Really good question!
It just really depends on your plan and how the boards fall.
You could take this years 2nd and then move back into the first to get your second BPA
You could get the likes of Slater/Cosmi/leatherwood & Newsome/Horn/Trevon M/ McNeil/Parsons
You got Dak for basically for 4 years get some Talent in here.
You could also say the same thing about a 1st next year you will have and extra pick in the first with that 5 year plan. There is some pretty good talent coming out next year.
Bundle the two 1's and trade up for a freak of a player.

Here is a way to think about this

Would you rather have had Diggs starting last year and already seasoned going in to this year or would you prefer to take Farley or Horn at 17 this year?

I’m taking Diggs one year early

unless you’re getting a top 10 pick it will be a crap shoot and the “value “of the pick depends entirely on who you pick so if you can guarantee a top 10 pick next year I’m in otherwise I’m taking a top 20 pick in rd 2 this year where the draft has a lot of defensive talent in rd 2-3

In general id take the extra 1 more often than not. However, there are a few factors that I'd take into consideration. Who are we trading with? That matters to me. Where is their second round pick this year? How far back are we dropping? Etc. Blanket answer - I'll take the 1 next year. Especially considering we aren't contending this year anyways
this is the right answer. it all depends on circumstances. Dallas definitely needs improvement quickly so that is one reason you might be tempted to take the pick this year. extra picks let you target players you are confident in and get them a years experience.

exactly, we need to use those later picks to move up this year or trade them for more valuable future picks.
