If We Went ‘All In’ This Year, Which Position Do We Trade The Farm To Upgrade?

Obviously this is hypothetical, but if Jerry voided the ability to resign our studs and went all in to win a SB this year, what’s one position you’d trade major draft or $ capital to get?

I know many might say OL, RB, LB, or TE, but for me it’s 3T. I’d go get Quinnen Williams from the Jets or make some similar move. As it stands right now, it’s basically just Osa back there. You can hope that Gallimore miraculously improves or Gholston/Fehoko surprise everyone, but we seem VERY shallow at a crucial rotational position

Well, since there is a "no trade clause" on the books, I have no answer.

it is only a "Prove it year," for fans. The Cowboys are about to extend him again. he will get another 4 years added to his deal real soon.
Dak is sitting pretty financially, and he's not going anywhere, so what you say is true.

However, I mean "prove it" in the sense that this is the best opportunity he is going to have to forge his legacy as an "elite" or "great" quarterback. He wins the Super Bowl, I think even as much as many Cowboys fans don't like him as a quarterback, he will be one step closer to improving his legacy. That's hard for a quarterback to do without a Super Bowl appearance at the very least and definitely helps with a Super Bowl win.

And, at least in my opinion, he has no better chance than to do it this year.

Perhaps there are some Philadelphians who'd take issue with your assessment above. Many there think their dual-threat, 'coach on the field' Hurts is a franchise QB1, that other teams covet. their words, not mine.
I like Hurts. But, IMO, he needs to prove himself over the course of a few years. And I watched him closely at Alabama. I'm not convinced he's elite. Not just yet.

He was not elite at Bama or his first season with PHL. However, his running ability puts him in elite status with that offense because he's a match for it.

There is only one player to trade for to go all in and KC is not trading him. There is no other QB, not Burrow, Herbert, Rodgers or Allen, that makes the difference that Mahomes makes and part of Mahomes success is Reid, no other HC recognized what kind of QB he is and would allow the creativity like Reid encourages.

I saw some of his Bama games, too. Philly fans are pretty high on the guy, I guess time will tell (if he can stay healthy). So I agree.
As the season plays out, it just may be that in January we'll see a classic, the Cowboys and Philadelphia square off in the tournament.

This is the same question just a different way. I would trade for a pro bowl guard and let Tyron and Steele play out the RT position whenever they are healthy.

Not often. Not often at all. Compare your short list with the long list of elite QBs who won the SB.

The answer, the ONLY answer to the OP question is the QB position.
I could have listed a lot more than that.

Chandler, Eason, Goff, Garrapolo, Rypien, Namath (he wasn't that good), Kilmer, and on and on.

And I said get there, not win it.

Meanwhile, several top QBs never got there at all.

A pass rush guy to match up with Parsons. The D would be #1 without a doubt.

You don't need to trade the farm to go all in and the only way trading multiple high end asset to get back 1 elite asset makes sense is if you are getting one of the top 3 QB's.

Can I trade Jerry? He is a HOF GM after all.
Someone posted the correct answer before I could.

Yes, a Lamar Jackson-lite with a better supporting cast.

Saying Stafford is trash is hyperbole on my part. You can do far worse than him but I do think you could do better as well. But there is no way in hell i'm giving him credit for the Rams winning that ring. If McVey had his way i'm sure there were 10 other guys he'd rather have but Stafford became available.

Stafford deserves his credit for the SB run i'm just disagreeing with giving him credit for the Rams winning a SB over Donald. To further represent how crazy that is Kupp was MVP of the SB....

I agree with you though.

22 was bad and Dak was a big part of that...but unfortunately the defense dropped some huge opportunities that would've helped us win.
2022 was BAD?? 12-5 2nd round is bad on whose scale.. jeez people the ending was heartbreaking but 1 score loss inthe 2nd round.hardly bad. wow fgans really need to check the scales they use teams and their fans would salivate over B2b 12 win seasons and the 2nd was an improvement as we went 1 round further after dismantling brady and bucs on the road.. that busted some old narrative's cant win on grass, on the road, and beat brady..

bad huh?? o_O

more hyperbole? using words like bad for that type of season.

disappointing sure, bad hardly, not even in the same zip code.

shall i remind you of bad 3 5-11 seasons= bad, 3 8-8 seasons = average and not good , b2b12 win seasons and 2nd round playoff berth = very good....

I’m referencing the 49ers game. Dak was bad in that game……I don’t need a Dak history lesson I’m one of his biggest supporters but that 49ers performance was awful.

Is this even a serious question?

If it is, the answer can only be QB

First off you literally said 2022 was bad, the damn playoff game was played in 2023, therefore I can infer that you meant the entire season I mean how else was I supposed to interpret that?

awful with good reasons, yes..no excuses. just reasons.. it is what it is.

Maybe it was my confusion but I was replying to this:

2022- no run game, poor blocking ,d was great but failed to make a few key plays that a truly dominate D with nickname would make, yes dak 2 INts but could have used some help, didn't play well but had reasons.

I thought you were referencing the 49ers game not the whole season. So I said 2022 was bad in reference to that game.

Quinnen Williams will probably have the biggest impact. You would probably have to overpay for him because the Jets arent motivated to trade him. But Williams, Osa and Smith could become a dominant interior for a long time
