Staubach. He would be the most valuable addition. That's no disrespect to Dak. It's certainly no disrespect to Aikman. Staubach was transcendent.
But the greatest player - position value aside - was Lilly. Probably one of the 5 best football players to ever live, let alone defensive tackles.
Clearly Lilly was the only player who awed Landry. It's a shame many people didn't see him play. He was so powerful, quick and relentless. As great as Randy White was - first ballot Hall of Famer and top 5 DT - Lilly changed games as no other.
But football being what it is, you have to go with the great quarterback. Staubach would be virtually unstoppable in today's game. Have you seen the deep outs to Pearson? Are you kidding me? Unfair.
