If you could draft again....

Tyron, but hindsight is a killer. Whats done is done and Tyron will be fine and an important part of the future.

Well, JJ is the better player but we have much more of a need on the O-line than the D-line. Our D-line isn't great but it's definitely serviceable. The O-line is atrocious.

Watt isn't just a better player now, he was a better player in college as well. At least we know why Smith played RT instead of LT. Smith still has a long way to go to get to Watt's level of play. Smith has always been about potential.

JJ is a better player now, but the general consensus is that Tyron has a greater ceiling and will be the better player down the road.

Well, LT is a premium position, whereas 3-4 DE isn't at all so in that reference I would rather have Tyron. I'm fine with having Tyron, but I will say if we are just talking about the better player its definitely JJ at the moment, something I didn't anticipate during that draft.

Hopefully Tyron will live up to his potential, but potential is just another word for not being great. I hate to see Tyron given the potential tag, but thats the way it is right now.

JJ is lights out right now, but just doesn't play the impact position that Tyron does although if he keeps up anywhere close to his current sack pace at that position he will make us look like idiots for passing on him.

Would you take Tyron Smith or J.J. Watt?

lol....since we currently have the #1 Defense ,and the only sure fire O lineman we have IS Tyron Smith id say it was the right choice

He isn't sure fire.

Well i'd take JJ Watt in hindsight but the choice was the right choice. Tyron is only 21. He should still be in college. Don't write him off so fast.

I wanted JJ but the team's hand was forced to draft Tyron, they had no other choice.

Too bad though, Watt is playing his way into the DPOY conversation and looks like the best DLineman in football.

ladies and gentleman....we have the #1 defense in the NFL right now....defense would have to drop down several notches before it became our problem

Um, Smith every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Seriously, how is this a legitimate question? Smith will be a 3 contract guy at LT -- do you have any idea how insanely valuable that is?

how do you know this?

watt might be the best defensive player in the entire league right now. imagine for a second him between ratliff and ware. i would definitely take watt. having to see him every week on the texans is frustrating.

smith. why? because people are pissing and moaning that we didn't take DeCastro. and took a defensive player. they are all having a total meltdown over the OL play. now you say why we took an OL man?

I'm pretty convinced that this board changes their opinion much more often than they change their underwear.

Wasn't Murray and Tyron going into the Hall just a few weeks ago?

you can't judge the entire board collectively. we all have our own opinions. i for one have always said we should have drafted watt.

JJ without a doubt. Never really wanted Smith to begin with. But hopefully that "potential" will translate into production - soon.
