And change one thing in Cowboys' history, what would it be?

One play, one free agent move, one penalty, one draft pick, one non-move, one coaching decision, one off the field incident removed, etc.

I'd go pull the flag out the refs' pocket on the obvious pass interference penalty Deion committed against Irvin in the conference championship game.

Would've changed the game completely, setting us up for an inevitable romp of the Chargers and an unheard of 4 consecutive super bowls.

The Catch.

Actually, let it happen. I'd like to change the tackle that was made on Drew Pearson. I'd like Drew to have broken the tackle and taken it to the house or at least put us in reasonable field goal range.

I hire a real coach instead of Wade Phillips. The Cowboys had the talent to win it all, but he screwed this team up.

We stuff Bart Starr at the goaline. Cowboys win 17-14. Then crush Oakland in two weeks.

Jethro not letting Jimmy go. Just think what could have been.

I would change Irvin not getting hurt against Philly.

Yeah. He might have burned out and not won the division in '94.

See, this is the thing I don't get about retroactive sports scenarios. Just because A should have happened, why does that mean B and C would have happened? Do you see what I'm talking about?

What if Jimmy Johnson stayed around? What if we wouldn't have won the division? What if we did win in '94? What's to say we would have done the same in '95?

I mean, if Romo would have run for a touchdown on the Bobbled Snap, there's no guarantee that A) we would have won or B) that we would have beat the next three teams to go to the Super Bowl.

I would ask Jerry not to have that drink in the bar and to keep Jimmy...Just saying...

I agree. I think the Cowboys would have been the first team in history to win 4 straight Super Bowls. I believe Jimmy Johnson and Emmitt Smith was the main reasons for the 90’s success.

Cant pick just one

That old fart..Jackie Smith dropping a sure TD.
someone posted Drew making the TD run instead of getting caught.
those are the first two that pop out

In the 1979 draft, the Cowboys had Joe Montana as the top guy on their board when their third round pick came. They picked a real good tight end in Doug Cosbie instead, but if I had a do-over, it would be picking Montana there.

Do that, and there's no "The Catch" and Dallas wins the Super Bowl that year over a very mediocre Bengals team. And Bill Walsh is just another coach.

There are several.

1. Illegal Procedure on Jerry Kramer in the Ice Bowl. We would have gone on to Super Bowl II.

2. Dave Manders would have correctly been rewarded witht eh fumble he recovered in Super Bowl V.

3. Glen Edwards would not have intercepted the pass int eh endzone of Super Bowl X.

4. Fred Swearngin would know the difference between offensive and defensive pass interference in Super Bowl XIII.

5. Dwight Clark would have dropped the Catch.

Pick any one of them. No wrong answers.

This. A close second would be the INT Meredith threw in the end zone under pressure to lose the championship game the year before.............

Deions no call PI would be changed for sure.

I like the idea of letting the Catch happen but then Drew breaking that tackle and taking that catch to the house. It would have been known as The Catch then and not the one Dwight Clark made.

I'd change the Superbowl losses to Pittsburgh and the Colts as well. 8-0 in the Superbowl would be pretty darn sweet. Thats probably the one I'd change above all others and be happy.
