If you could spend 3 first-round picks on any one position, which would it be?

Hypothetical question:

Let's say that you were the GM for Dallas and had 3 first-round draft picks, but for some reason they all had to be spent drafting the same position. Which would it be?

(These three first-round picks cannot be traded up or down to another NFL team for something else. They all have to be drafted, as is - use it or lose it.)

I would take either offensive line or the pass rushers. Building an offensive line with three 1st-round picks could lead to a dynasty like the 1990s.

But with DeMarcus Ware getting old, and Spencer and Butler, etc. simply not getting the job done - imagine if we drafted three more defensive linemen and pass rushers in the first round? We would have a fearsome defense that might average 4-5 sacks a game and numerous QB pressures, routinely. Plus, Ware could get a lot more rest.

  • Offensive linemen
  • Defensive linemen/pass rushers
  • Wide receivers and tight ends
  • Special teams players
  • Running backs
  • Cornerbacks and safeties
  • Inside linebackers
  • Other

I would go Offensive Line. A great OL gave make average weapons look special.

A stud nose tackle, of the huge variety. A stud center. And a stud guard. Having both Ratliff and the nose tackle needing to be double teamed every play has to free up more plays outside of those two.

Oline unless there is some once in a lifetime receiver out there. CB is another honorable mention.

give me aaron rodgers thats the only way i would spend 3 first round draft picks otherwise it would be a dumb decision. :starspin

I love romo i am just saying if i am spending 3 first rounders it better be on a Top 5 young QB.

That is not three players of the same position.

my bad.I would take the O-line.we still need a center and a replacement for Kosier.

This.

I'd take 3 CBs or 3 studs on the DL.

These guys hold their value and could be traded later.

Totally contradicts the BPA, more likely to draft busts if you force it by the position. If you were going to do it have to be one of the three: OL, DL, DB

SF did that more or less and seems to be working well for em Iupati, Davis, ans Staley. Three shut sown corners is intriguing though.

Reading comprehension is not strong in this thread.

How did some of you ever get out of grade school if you can't read simple instructions?
