If you had been asked which Dallas franchise would not win a championship in next 30 years

In 1996, I would have picked the Texas Rangers to not win a championship for 30 years. The Rangers have not only won a championship since then, so have all the other DFW teams since then.

In fact, if we look playoff performance among the 4 DFW major sports teams, the Cowboys are at the bottom of the barrel.
  • Rangers: 1 World Series Championship, 3 AL championships
  • Stars: 1 Stanley Cup championships, 4 Western conf championships, 6 conference championship appearnces.
  • Mavericks: 1 NBA championship, 3 Western conference championships, 5 western conference championship appearnces.
  • Cowboys: Zero SB championships, zero conference championship appearances.
The Cowboys are the only team of the four whose owner does not hire someone else as the GM. Coincidence?
It’s just bad luck, bad calls, bad drafts, Jerry assuming the role of head coach, introducing Rowdy, hiring every family member to be involved in a business they know nothing about, etc

Ive always been confused about that way of thinking. Most of the NHL players on every United States team are from Canada and American born players are only under 30%.

In fact a Canadian based hockey team hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1993!

The Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship in 2019 so Geographic location of any professional team is almost irrelevant.
Yeah, it's not like the players are from there.

I was 29 years old, full of piss and vinegar. I would have probably said, I don't give a crap and tell that little guy in the corner, he better not ask me to share my thoughts, again!!

Mavericks for sure.
Stars had a formidable team still. And won the Stanley cup 3 years later.
Rangers were ok. I think.
Yup that is how I remember it, about. Rangers and Stars had coaches that were getting some praise at the time and doing the right things. Mavericks had Jason Kidd I guess. I don't quite remember what year it was where they were saying that the best players on the mavs were all too big headed to work together. I remember the son of Ross Perot being a joke though :) Mavs didn't start getting interesting until Mark Cuban was the owner.

Certainly the Mavs. They were such a bad team, and many thought they wouldn't win it with Dirk. Their championship win was a mini-miracle.

The teams Dak has had were far superior to the ones Romo had.
Not true. Parcells built what most sportswriters considered to be a Super Bowl roster and Romo failed to win more than 2 WC games, same as Dak. Dak has Parsons and Romo had Ware. It's my opinion that our defense that is primarily responsible for all playoff loses the past 29 seasons.
