I completely disagree. I think Minnesota is going to end up being one of the more pleasant surprises in the League this year. They have a great DL (best in the NFL in Rushing Yards Allowed last season) and will obviously be able to run the ball like crazy with the Taylor/Peterson monster, thus controlling the clock & tempo and keeping their defense rested. They'll need very little out of Tavaris Jackson to be successful this on offense but, with a full NFL offseason as the Starting QB under his belt, I think he'll end up having a good/really good season in 2007. Combine that with a weak Division (Bears plummeting back to Earth, Lions still being the Lions, Ancient Favre still being ancient Favre, etc.), a manageable schedule, and I like the Vikes to win the North this season.
Wow!
That is a major disagreement.
This is how I see the Vikings.
As for their DL, they have two great DT's not a great DL. When your starting DE's gets 0 sacks, you've got problems.
Neither Udeze or James sniffed the QB last year, that's why the Vikings pass defense suffered.
They do have two solid backs, but every team has to throw the ball. Minnesota has no QB and no WR's - a bad combination.
So overall, they can't pass or stop the pass - looks like a recipe for disaster to me.
Not to mention the fact that the guy who coached the defense (Tomlin) is gone, while the offensive genius who brought nothing to the table remains.
I see them winning about 4 games.
