That depends. Someone, who is as inflexible and defiant as him, does not appreciate negativity directed at them that is outside their control. They prefer controlling the narrative (usually through deflection) or flat out avoiding it. It would be nice if someone mentioned the booing during an interview or radio spot..
This is why I am very hopeful the reports are true of Jones being booed en masse. The term ego is thrown around too casually. His is more specific and does not generally like getting dissed within an arena filled with bright lights.
That is how someone like him can possibly be motivated to do something they do not prefer. It is not through his wallet. It is through messing with that gray matter squatting between ears.
The odds are still very much against Johnson getting inducted or inducted sooner rather than later. Hopefully, the spontaneous crowd-booing-in-person trend will surface for other unrelated situations also. Keep poking his ego in the way he does not like and see how he reacts.
