Sorry Aven :(

If we do something stupid and trade up for a QB then It needs to be Hackenberg.

He has the arm talent, surprisingly athletic, played in a pro style offense, and has pocket presence.

That throw at 3:44 is a bigtime throw. He makes a lot of bigtime throws.

Again, not what I would do but this guy at least is likeable and has a ton of upside.

As a PSU alum, I am bias. But I really like him among the second tier qbs. Just watch the highlight film. If he goes where he can get good coaching and to a patient staff, I think he can have a very good career.

To be honest, I am a little torn. I don't know if he can get what he needs in Dallas. I would like to see him come out here to the desert and play for Bruce Arians or reunite with O'Brien in Houston. But I would also love to root for him as a Cowboy.

Cook plays in a pro style offense too. Of course Cook's issue is doing less with more.

Between Cook and Hack I would take Hack. I would not want either over Lynch.

However I think Hack was in a pretty crappy position at Penn State after OBrien (sp?) left and also taking into account that Penn State lost some good people who left and lost scholarships to bring in some other good people.

But still with that said...If we trade up...it needs to be for Lynch and not Cook nor Hack IMO.

His best asset other than the physical part is his ability to read the defense and make calls and audibles on the line. None of the other QBs have that type of control and command. Not wentz, goff, lynch, or cook. A couple years sitting down will do him a lot of good.

My impression of him is like Chris Simms or Ron Powlus - a lingering reputation based on high school and unfulfilled talent. Pass.

Lynch is supposedly falling.. Radio reported that Schefter thinks he won't go in round 1.

Yeah I seen that...I can believe he might be falling and maybe that is the talk of who we move up for...which is ok IMO...however If he fell out of the first I would be shocked.

As a PSU alum, I am horribly afraid they will take Hack. His footwork is awful, he takes way too many sacks, and his accuracy has NEVER been good (even in that supposedly transcendent freshman year). If you need a slap to the face reminder of his shortcomings, watch this year's Blue-White spring game. The undersized, weaker armed backup QB from last year, McSorley, was unreal. Of course it's a different offense, but the benefit of accuracy was eye-popping. Hitting receivers in stride, hitting them on the correct side, showing touch on short throws - it was something you haven't seen in 3 years on that campus. He was 23-27 with the lone incompletion in the first half where he was something like 22-23 being an interception down the field where he just didn't account for a DB who was covering another receiver. He also had 4 TDS. I don't think that Hack wouldn't be 23-27 throwing footballs through the Dr. Pepper wooden board at halftime.

Yeah, I know you can try to fix the footwork and you can have Parcells come in from Jersey to scream at him 2 seconds after the snap in practice to "THROW THE BALL!" but you HAVE to see some evidence that the kid can be accurate enough to make it in the NFL. I haven't seen all his high school tape but his completion percentages in his three years at that level: .518, .501, .536. The guy hasn't thrown for 60% at any relative level of football. Why would it begin against an NFL defense?
