I am not defending Art. I have said this before because he is more than capable of defending himself.

But even Billy B, who was just a blatent homer here in the past has become a very good poster overall. When he started out on ES he oft times was just flaming or trolling.

You go to another board to post, make a valid point, a valid argument, support your opinions with facts, support your theories with basis.

Obviously that board is filled with homers (even if it is just a little), you gotta bring more to the table than just "your team sucks", " your team was lucky" or whatever.

One of their ADmins, Art, has threatened to boot anyone who suggests that the Commanders wasted draft picks on FB's. Because the Skins don't use FB's. Or something. :laugh2:

Art is a moron. No one argues the fact that he's on a constant powertrip and servicing the Commanders FO whenever the time demands it.

That said, I bet he loves the attention he gets from us talking about him, so I'll give him some credit for at least having the ability to make people talk about him.

He still sucks though.

Beyond all that, Art is wrong when he says that Broughton and White aren't fullbacks... they're both in the 245-255 pound range, and both pretty slow for an NFL RB, running 40s in the 4.6-4.7 range...

More relevant though, is the fact that NFL.com, ESPN.com and SI. com ALL had them listed as fullbacks in their draft ratings... so, while the Skins might not really use a pure FB in Gibbs' offense, the truth is both WERE drafted as FBs... here are some quotes on those players:

Big, strong, athletic ball handler with potential as a triple-threat fullback in the NFL

That's what SI had to say about White... and here's what they had to say about Broughton:

Performed well as a lead blocker at the Senior Bowl and has the potential to be a triple-threat fullback if he improves his hands.

Hmmmm, maybe they should have talked to Art, he could have told them those two are not fullbacks... LOL... next up, NFL.com's analysis of White:

Has marginal burst or speed and is a bit of a "tweener" who will eventually grow into a fullback …

And now, ESPN's take on White:

White is a versatile fullback in the mold of Packers' FB Najeh Davenport  just not nearly as athletic. White lacks ideal experience as a blocker but he has excellent size and some upside in that area if he can improve his technique

And their take on Broughton:

He worked out as a running back at the combine but as a fullback at the Senior Bowl, where he showed good athletic ability for his size and above average power but was understandably unpolished as a blocker.

The TRUTH is, both players are FB/RB "tweeners" who scouts almost unanimously agreed would find their NFL futures at FB... now, as noted, the Skins run a lot of one back sets, and in those sets they would play at RB, if at all... but to say they're not fullbacks is just plain wrong, and frankly, if the Skins drafted them to be running backs, they were wasted picks, far more than if they had been drafted to play fullback... I mean, the Skins have Portis, Betts and Cartwright already at RB, how much impact could you expect from 2 big, slow running backs??

But again, Art's obstinate insistence that neither guy is a fullback is just WRONG... but you can get banned over there by proving to him that he's wrong, which is the essence of fascism...

Art's motto is probably "zieg heil, y'all"... LOL...

You guys seem to have a lot of angst when it comes to Art.

You are going to a Commanders MB and point out one guy who obviously says things that get you worked up, and then come here to ***** and complain about it it seems a tad trite.

So many of you trash ES yet every week there are several posts here by members who provide a link that several of you rush over to read, and then comment about.

Kinda silly really.

Naw, folks just have a morbid fascination with watching train wrecks...

Seriously, I like to work ol' Art over because he's both arrogant and ignorant at the same time... that alone would be bad enough, but for some reason the folks at extremeskins decided to give him some power as a moderator, and he trashes that board with his heavy-handed use of that power...

Art is EXACTLY what's wrong with extremeskins, there is an accepted party line over there, and if you run against it, you get run off... I shudder to think of the number of regulars over here who would get banned if such a policy was in effect-- including me, 'cause I won't take no crap off of some loud-mouth ingoramus who's talking garbage, even if he DOES have the powers of a moderator...

This board is better because folks are allowed to post whatever silly notion comes into their head... the moderators and admins in here are content to let the knowledgeable posters destroy those posts, in the process revealing the lack of credibility of the posters...

If I was a Skins fan, I'd post at every other Skins board except extremeskins...

But we're not talking about how Art treats fans of other teams here, he flexes his fascistic muscles on Skins fans, too... in fact, back at the time of the draft he ORDERED one Skins fan to post EXACTLY what he told the poor guy to, or face banning...

It's enough to make you wonder why Art is so desperately afraid of any opinion that does not conform to his own... it's also enough to make you wonder why Skins fans even bother participating in the dialogue over there... the only thing I can figure out is there are a lot of Skins fans who WANT to hear nothing but pro-Skins propaganda, so they FAVOR the fascistic crushing of opposing viewpoints...

I don't completely pity Spurrier. He is largely responsible for the lack of talent they had since he wanted many of his ex-Florida QB's to start for him and all of them turned out to be busts. Danny Snyder is pretty much an open wallet so Spurrier had the opportunity to acquire better talent but like all wannabe genius coaches, they want to prove to everyone how they can take a scrub no one wanted and turn that person into gold. Dennis Green is sorta doing that with the Cardinals in regards to the hacks he has as his assistants. Instead of going out and hiring a real coaching staff and putting some of that 10 million into it, Green instead settled on hiring a bunch of his friends for positions they were clearly and dubiously unqualified for.
