Would you seriously look at Jason Garrett? Would you offer a smaller more managable deal for the Broncos organization in order to force Jerry's hand and make a play at Shanahan. If Shanahan does not coach this year the Broncos have to pay $7M guaranteed correct?

I don't know the full history of the Broncos and how long Bowlen has owned the team. But I believe they have only had 4 or 5 coaches since the late '70's including Reeves, Phillips, and Shanahan.

I know it's alot of money but would you play one hand in order to maybe force (or make things a hell of alot easier) for Jerry to fire Wade and hire Shanahan.

First off Pat Bowlen isn't a cheap owner and he wants to find an answer for his team. 2nd, this is a very bright and value added approach to Bowlen's hiring conquest as long as he really feels Garrett is a long term answer. That's why you would go after a Steve Spagnuolo or a Jason Garrett. They are young and if they can get momentum early in their HC careers can become franchise HC's.

The fact Garrett was a QB and is "supposed" to be really good with QB's is something that attracts an owner who has a young up and coming QB like Jay Cutler who is the centre piece of the franchise. Bowlen, if he feels Garrett is a long term answer, can absolutely kill 2 birds with 1 stone adding the financial value aspect of signing Garrett. The fans in Denver respected Shanny but believe change needs to be made there as well reading their feedback in posts. PR wise how would they react to getting our Asst. HC when we get their HC? That's the game that will have to be played also.
